A new start

Chapter 28

Mark's POV

Amy has been having really bad nightmares since Jared showed his ugly face here. I don't mind sleeping with her curled up on me but she gets so scared of these dreams, she will wake up screaming or in a cold sweat. The one got so bad that Chase even ran in thinking Jared showed up somehow and he was hurting Amy. She says that she doesn't want to talk about them when she wakes up but she talks in her sleep begging for him to stop. I don't want to pressure her to talk about it, she will when she is ready. 

"Coffee?" I asked Amy as she sat down at the table.

"Sure." She slid her cup towards me. "So what is the plan today?"

"Well, we need to pick a teacher for the kids, I like the one that let us watch him teach the others, then we need to go food shopping and I was hoping we can go back to the mall and get you and Chase some new clothes and stuff like that."

"I don't need new clothes."

"Most of your clothes are way too big for you or have holes in them, please let me buy your clothes. I wasn't able to buy you anything when I order Chase's online because I don't know your size."

"Fine, but I am helping pay."

"We'll see. When do you want to go?" I asked smiling. 

"Soon, Chase and Demi will be up soon. Mark, did I scream in my sleep last night?"

"Yes." I took a sip of coffee.

"You would think since he can't hurt us I would be able to sleep. Thank you for not making me talk about the dreams. They are just too real, It's strange though. when I lay alone I feel like he is going to hurt us but when I lay with you, I know it is a dream and that it will be over soon. I feel safer."

"Well that's good, I am glad I am able to calm you down. and I know when your ready to talk you will."

"Thank you."

"Hello," Demi said walking down the steps with Chase behind her.

"Hey guys," I said as Demi gave Amy and hug. 

"You guys ready to go shopping? I'll make breakfast while you guys get dressed then we can head out." I said as Demi ran over to me and jumped in my lap. Chase hugged Amy. 

"Yay! Shopping!" Demi said.

"We can get you more clothes," Amy said to Chase.

"Ok, But momma you need them too." He looked at Amy.

"I promise we will get momma more clothes as well. Whatever you guys need we will get today." I said to him.

"Thank you." He came over and gave me a hug.

"It is all going to be okay," I said hugging him back, we let go and he ran upstairs to get changed.

"Can I get a new dress?" Demi asked.

"You can get whatever you want." 

"YAY!" she gave me a hug then ran to go get dressed.

"That went well," I said getting up, I started to make pancakes.

"Thank you for all of this," Amy said.

"There are no thanks needed but, are we still on for Saturday?"

"Wait, you were serious?"

"Yes, why would I joke about that?"

"But I am so broken and why would you waste your heart on me?" she was almost in tears, I turned the stove off and ran to her wrapping my arms around her.
