A new start

Chapter 32

"Please don't hate me when you come back." Demi was in tears again. She has been crying all night and now as I am putting my shoes on she is crying again.

"Demi, I will never ever, ever hate you. No matter what he says you are still my number one."

"You promise?"

"100% FULLY promise to never ever hate you."

"You promised so you better not."

I walked over to her and picked her up holding her tight. "I promise that I will not break my promise. Now I need to leave, you be good for Amy and your teacher okay?"

"Yes, Mark." She said giving me a hug.

"Go do your class work." I put her down and she ran downstairs.

"Are you sure you are going to be okay doing this?" Amy asked.

"I need to do it, we got one monster gone, let's get the second one gone as well."

She walked over to me giving me a hug and a kiss. "Please be safe."

"I will, anything goes on here call me."

"Will do." We let each other go I kissed her forehead then left.

It didn't take too long to get to the jail when I walked in the check me to make sure I didn't have anything I wasn't allowed to.

"Who are you here to see?" The lady asked giving me a visitor badge.

"David Brinks."

"And you are?"

"Mark Fischbach."

"You are on the list, follow me." She took me to a huge room where other inmates where talking to people. "Sit here, he will be out in a few."

"Yes, ma'am," I said taking my seat. After a few moments, a tall older man came walking in, the guards had him sit with me.

"Who are you and why do you want to talk to me?" He barked.

"My name is Mark, I adopted Demi and I had some medical question about her."

A creepy smile formed on his face.

"How is my little angel?"

"She is good, she is in class right now."

"You are going to need a tutor for her, she never was good at learning anything."

"So far she is doing great, she is amazing at spelling. My question is does she have any allergies that I need to know about?"

"No, not that I knew of, She stayed in her room most of the time. that is how I knew where to start the fire."

"So, the rumors are true, you tried to kill her?"

"That are not rumors, I told the police I did it. I got her sister but she was faster."

"Why?"

"She was turning into her mother! She was this little devil thing that. Both of them were. the plan was to kill all of us but Demi woke up and tried to save Kelly."

"Who is Kelly?"

"Her sister."

"I don't get it, Demi is nothing what you just said. Do you think it was all the drinking you did it  messed with your brain?"

"I never drank."

"You drank so much that you don't even remember, look into your files. You will see who really was the devil."
