Andromeda Year 1 (A Harry Potter Fanfiction) COMPLETE

Trip to the Hospital Wing

"Snape!" Jericho says in surprise, then points at Andromeda, who holds back a snarl. "She did this!" Professor Snape peruses the scene, wrinkling his nose at the three boys.

"Five points to Ravenclaw," Professor Snape says calmly.

"What?" Marvelo shouts. "You're giving her points?"

"Look what she did!" Jericho says, waving his arms and sending stuff splattering on the ground.

"I seem to recall that you were the ones who were cleaning the bathroom, not Miss Sorin. And I highly doubt that the young Mr. Aaron got in that state by himself," Professor Snape explains casually, turning his head to take in the two first years. "You two are excused."

"Thank you Professor," Andromeda says quickly, the slightest lisp slipping around her sharp teeth. She grabs Tobias' hand and pulls him down the hall to the next corner. "Are you okay?" she asks as soon as they turn down into the next hall. She looks at his face quickly, everything in sharp contrast to her. There were bruises forming on his face and wrists and he was wincing with each step. "Nope, no you're not," she answers herself no more than a second later. "Come on, I'm going to take you to the Hospital Wing," she tells him grabbing his hand, and firmly pulling him behind her.

"No, I'm fine," he tries to protest, but his voice is so faint, it just makes her more sure that he needs medical attention.

By the time they make it to the hospital wing, Tobias can barely stand on his own. Andromeda has an arm around him and is carrying half his weight, her anger and Veela blood fueling her energy, but she was running low on patience and she had to find something to distract herself. Luckily, Madame Pomfrey flutters towards them quickly.

"Now what happened here?" she demands, helping Andromeda get Tobias to the closest bed.

"He-"

"I fell," Tobias grunts, settling onto the surprisingly soft mattress. Andromeda glares at him, but he attempts to glare back, making him wince. She doesn't contend his answer. Madame Pomfrey doesn't look like she believes him, anyway. She just probes Tobias' stomach carefully, making mental notes and muttering to herself as Tobias hisses in pain and winces. "Ouch!"

"Okay, okay, now, let me see," Madame Pomfrey says, leaving the bedside and bustling around the room and coming back with a couple different glasses of various liquids. "Now you'll need to drink these, here; this one first," she says, handing Tobias a clear blue one. Tobias took an obligatory swallow and then made a face. "Come on, come on; drink it all down now." Tobias forced the rest of it down and gasped as he leaned to the side to set the empty glass on the table. "Good, good, now this one," Madame Pomfrey said, handing him the next one.

Tobias continued to make faces at each of the potions that he was forced to drink, except for the last one. It was a small glass of a milky white liquid, just enough for a swallow. Tobias gave it an uncertain look, worried because of all the other gross liquids he'd tasted and taking a nervous sip. He brightens at the taste and tosses the rest back.

"Good, good. Now you'll stay here to rest, but you should be fine to leave by dinner. And you," Madame Pomfrey turns to look at Andromeda, taking a second look as Andromeda avoids eye contact and hides her hands behind her back.

"I was heading to the library," she says, figuring it would be better to go for a walk. She feels better, but her anger was still on a simmer and everything was still sharp.

"Could you study here?" Tobias asks, "could she study here?" he asks Madame Pomfrey. The older witch purses her lips, thinking.

"As long as you get your rest," she concedes sternly.

"I will, thanks Madame Pomfrey," Tobias says with a smile and a faint wince. Madame Pomfrey bustles away and Andromeda cautiously sits on the chair on the side of the bed. She breathes slowly through her nose multiple times before she risks a glance at his face.
