Toriel is staring expectantly down at you. You're wearing the purple dress she had sewn you, complete with a rune on the front that matched the one on her own robe. That's about where the similarities between the two pieces of clothing stopped, however. The waist is tied with a ribbon a darker shade of purple, and the fabric reaches down to about your knees. You have one of your grey sweaters on top of it, so the upper half isn't visible.
"You look great, my child." She says, smiling warmly at you. "Do you like the dress? I had started working on it a few weeks ago and just finished it while you were out..."
"Yeah, it's pretty cool." You say, looking down at yourself. Your skin shifts again and you quickly look away. You turn to go back into your room. "I'ma change out of it now."
"Wait!" Toriel says, blocking the door before you can turn the handle. "I need to take a picture!"
You roll your eyes at her. "Maybe later, ok? Dresses aren't really my thing..."
Says who? You immediately think.
*Says me.*
Toriel reluctantly nods and lets you into your room. You change out of the dress and into your usual clothes (jeans, t-shirt, etc.) and head back into the living room. You find Toriel sitting in her chair and reading another snail book.
She looks up at you as you walk in. She smiles, but there's something off about it...
"So," She starts, closing her book and setting it on her lap. "Did you happen to meet any one while you were out?"
Oh no.
"Yes," You reply, your grin growing a little wider. "I did meet someone, but they didn't have any meat on their bones!"
Toriel laughs, but when she looks at you again, she has a certain glint in her eye.
"... I have a feeling you already know who I'm talking about." You say.
"Of course I do!" She says as she stands up. She walks over, towering above you. "You know, (Y/n)..."
"Don't say it, Tori," You warn, your grin still on your face.
"You two..." She continues.
"Tori..."
"Would look really--"
"Tori, don't do it..."
"You two would just look adorable together!" She bursts out, grabbing both of your shoulders and squeezing.
"Ugh, Tori..." You facepalm at the squealing mess Toriel has become.
"He's really sweet, (Y/n)!"
"Tori..."
"He really is quite the gentleman!"
"Tori, please..."
"He loves jokes just as much as you do!"
"Toriel, we met like, half an hour ago..."
Her smile widens greatly. "Who? I don't recall saying anyone's name..."
Awe, shit. She's on to me.
You feel your face heat up. You somehow manage to cool it back down as you grin casually.
"Well, the only person I had time to meet today was Sans, so I just had to assume he's who you're talking about." You put your hands in your pockets. "Plus, I made that pun, which I would say is a pretty big clue."
Toriel is still smiling at you. You feel uncomfortable...
"Welp, I'm going to go chill outside for a little," You say hurriedly, grabbing your (f/c) coat. "See you."
