Chapter 16:

The next day at school was painfully boring for Jimin.

He felt guilty about the way he reacted yesterday but also he still felt residual anger settled in his bones.

Jungkook kept telling his that he'd predicted it all along, even though how could he have?

The whole thing felt foreign to Jimin.

He usually shut feelings for people out because he knew he could never talk to him but Yoongi was different.

Jimin wasn't scared to talk to him anymore, if anything what scared him was the fact that Yoongi made him want to talk.

So to be back to just talking to Jungkook and Taehyung when all he wanted to do was gush to Yoongi about a cat he'd seen on the way to school was a bit deflating.

Yoongi had patience for the rambling Jimin did. Jimin felt like he had years of rambling to catch up on and Yoongi was the just the person the ramble too.

Taehyung was trying to be comforting but he was rather useless at it.

When it came to any class with Yoongi Jimin kept his head down and tried not to look at him.

From the few glances Jimin stole he noted that Yoongi looked miserable, he was paler than usual and his eyes were slightly bloodshot.

Whenever Hoseok would try to tease him or talk to him, Yoongi would brush Hoseok away or make a snappy remark.

Jungkook had offered to sit with Jimin in classes today and kept checking in to make sure he was okay.

"I can't tell who looks more miserable, you or Yoongi"

Jimin kept quiet, not really wanting to talk about it.

They were supposed to meet in the library after school again today but Jimin wasn't sure if they were still on for that.

Did Yoongi see it as something they could just pretend never happened?

Jimin hoped so.

"Right so you're telling me that you like him but you're too proud of your shitty tough boy image to tell him"

Hoseok shook his head disapprovingly.

"Literally no one can touch you Yoongi everyone is somewhat scared of you, being with Jimin won't change that"

Yoongi had pushed himself up onto the window sill inside the art room, partly because it was his mums room and partly because he secretly hoped Jimin might appear.

"So maybe I'm not scared of what everyone will think"

Hoseok had leant back against the wall beside the sill where Yoongi was perched.

"And maybe I'm being ridiculous"

"And maybe you should just go for to and deal with your worries after"

Yoongi scoffed at the idea.

"You haven't even admitted to yourself you like boys properly Yoongi, after you do that it'll be easier I swear"

Hoseok was right, Yoongi had kind of realized that he liked boys but deep down he was resistant to the fact.

Years of being told he was going to marry and girl and live happily ever after were ingrained in his mind.

He couldn't undo 18 years of societies preaching within a few weeks.

Surely not.

"A good first step might just be going to the library after school" Hoseok suggested hesitantly, edging away from Yoongi as if he were a bomb about to explode.

"Only because I have a test tomorrow!"

"Ah yes of course" Hoseok grinned.

"And remember if your worried about anything just say no homo after and it doesn't count" he jeered before slinking out the door leaving Yoongi alone with his thoughts and the ticking clock.

Fuck it

Jimin was walking past the library to go home. He had no intention of going in because he assumed Yoongi wouldn't be there anyways. So when he saw the familiar blonde hair climbing the steps to the grey building he almost fainted with the shock.

He debated just going home and convincing himself it was the right thing to do but instead he felt his body pulling him up the steps after Yoongi.

The smell of old paper and ink when he walked into the library was as inviting as ever as he walked through the old wooden framed door.

He pulled the seat next to Yoongi out and sat down without saying anything.

The silence was deafening and neither did anything to break it.

Not until Yoongi pulled out a manuscript copy and started scribbling away at it.

Then Jimin decided the silence needed to be broken.

"What does it sound like?"

Yoongi's pencil halted mid note and he turned to look at Jimin.

"What?"

"The piece.. can I hear it"

Yoongi just slid his phone across the table and resumed writing.

Jimin held the phone up to his ear and listened to what Yoongi had written and recorded.

His eyes widened, the piece was absolutely beautiful.

"You wrote this?"

"Mmmm"

Jimin continued listening for a while before turning to face Yoongi.

"Let's forget about yesterday okay, instead of this ridiculous silence I want to see you play this piece and everything else you've ever written"

The the smile that cracked upon Yoongi's face was so large it warmed the atmosphere immediately.

"Jungkook wouldn't be happy about us being anywhere other than the library"

Jimin chuckled, relief washed over him. The ridiculous issue of yesterday was resolved.

"He just worries about me"

Yoongi had started tossing his stuff back into his rucksack and was in such a rush he even got some of Jimin's stuff in there as well.

"What's the rush ?"

"I thought you wanted to hear me play" he frowned slightly, "we only have half an hour until this session is over"

"Who said the only time we can be together is during study time?"

Jimin was trying not to laugh at the older ones behavior.

"Yoongi I'd spend all my time talking to you"

As anticipated, Yoongi blushed from his toes right up to his ears.

Yoongi quickly realized he was fucked
