Needless to say, I hate my life.
"Lady Oriel wants you to investigate the corruption of the fairies? I will gladly tell you what I know." Ceren blinked, plastic smile on his face.
"Yeah, that'd be awesome." I sighed.
"When the dark fairies began to show up, I had suspected Lady Blackhope. But even she had never tried to enchant fairies before."
"Cool."
"Then the fairies gave report of a skeleton? Of course! Who else could it be but Rattlebones!"
"Who the fuck-"
Quest complete!
"Since I grew up here, I know a lot."
The first few words come out strained, as if they're hard to say.
"I do not know yet what dark master had aided him, but Rattlebones has taken over my old friend Delia's tower. Find him in the tower and stop him from making any more cages. Please... do what you can to save the fairies!"
"Jesus, okay Tinkerbell." I muttered.
New Quest: Stop the Maker.
I followed the yellow arrow and found the tower easily enough. You would not believe how many towers there are on this street.
As soon as I opened the door, a raspy voice began to speak.
"You've come to stop me, young Wizard? I'd like to see you try! I will keep corrupting fairies until my dying breath!"
My eyes focused on the skeleton in front of me. "It looks like you're already dead." I remarked, walking into battle. Along with the dead guy, one of those pixie balls of death joined the fight.
2 against 1. Great.
I cast the dark fairy spell on the fairy twice, causing her to die. This Rattlebones dude cast a spell, causing a beetle to burrow our of the ground and attack me. I shivered. I hate bugs.
I cast this sparkley spiral spell on him like twice, and he didn't die, which sucked. I took a gulp of air as that disgusting bug sprayed this weird gooey stuff at me. Finally, I delivered the finishing blow, causing the skeleton to fall apart.
I guess he's really dead now.

New quest: Talk to Ceren Nightchant
I began to go back to Ceren, running into a couple floating balls on the way there. As soon as I stepped in front of Ceren's line of sight, his face light up. "You did it! Now, the fairies will sing again! You bested that wretched skeleton Rattlebones! I wish that was the end of our troubles in Wizard City, but I'm afraid a more sinister evil is still out there." He exclaimed.
"Oh boy!"
Quest complete!
"Thanks to you, Rowan-"
"How do you know my name?" I raised an eyebrow. As far as I knew, I only told it to Ambrose. Creepy...
"-Unicorn Way is in less danger than it was. But we are still not out of the dark woods yet. You should report our progress to Headmaster Ambrose. The news about Rattlebones may help him determine what doom has come to Wizard city." Ceren's smile seemed to falter, but I payed it no mind. I'm not going to go around observing every weird thing that happens. This whole place is weird!
New Quest: Rattlebones report!
Level 4! Please head to Ravenwood for training!
I shooed the words away and breathed a sigh of relief as I went back to the commons. I followed the yellow arrow to Ambrose, sitting down on the carpet when he began speaking. Time to rest my legs.
"Congratulations, Rowan! I hear that you have found a solution to the fairy corruption. Unfortunately, Wizard City-"
"Creative city name." I remarked.
"-is not out of peril just yet. All is at risk!"
"I'm terrified for you."
The Siri voice spoke above me. You tell the headmaster what Rattlebones told you.
I looked up. "Wait, what did Rattlebones tell me again?"
Merle's gravelly voice rumbled, "So, Malistaire has designs on bringing Wizard City to its knees? This does not bode well. We will still need to be on guard lest his evil plans succeed. Thank you for all you have done, Rowan."
Quest complete!
I blinked at the yellow exclamation point above Ambrose and sighed, getting off the ground. Maybe another time. I'm too tired for quests right now. I walked out of the building when a message flashed in my face.
Please head to Ravenwood for training.
Ravenwood? Training? Awesome. After searching the city for a bit, I found the entrance to Ravenwood. I gasped when I entered. Ravenwood was a beautiful place with a large tree in the center, that did have a face, but it was still pretty if you ignored that little detail. Around it were large buildings with different types of weather or elements around it. One had a large cloud over the top. Lighting was flashing and thunder boomed as rain poured onto the building. The one next to that was covered with snow.
I ran to ever building, looking at the signs on the door.
Snow, storm, fire, life, myth.
My brows furrowed. Where was death?
I shrugged and decided to go into the school of storm. My eyes got wide when I spotted a frog in a purple suit and top hat standing on a desk.
I hesitantly started walking up to him before turning around halfway there, muttering a 'Nope.' I was not in the mood to talk to a frog.
So instead I went to the school of myth. The man in the building looked uptight, but at least he was human. I approached him and he regarded me with a sneer, handing me a card without a word.
"Oh, um thanks." I said, taking it. There was a flash of light. I blinked and looked down at the card in my hand, suddenly understanding the words printed on it, before adding it to the other cards. Blood Bat was what it read. I exited the building and felt my eyes adjust.
Wasn't it brighter before?
I looked up at the sky, which seemed to have darkened. I shrugged and began to walk when I stopped short, realization slapping me in the face.
It's getting dark...
