Hwarang: The Story of Hansung and Minah

2 days passed and everyone in Hwarang was talking about the assassins that snuck in and tried to kill the king. Ahro wasn't around so I made sure to check up on him and had other Hwarang's keep him safe. I left the room to get some water from the river but ran into Hansung.

Minah: (smiles) Hey.

Hansung: (smiles) Minah. What are you doing here?

Minah: I'm taking care of the king while Ahro is out doing whatever.

Hansung: (pouts) Ah. I'm kind of jealous.

I laughed and held his hand so I could drag him to the river with me. Once we got there, we sat down and just relaxed for a bit.

Hansung: Can I get your opinion on something?

Minah: What is it?

Hansung: I was thinking that I should write a letter to my grandfather. About my experience in Hwarang, what I want to do and about my brother.

Minah: Why a letter?

Hansung: I most likely won't remember everything that I wanna talk about. Plus, if I mess up, I can just throw it away and start over again.

Minah: (smiles) Then do that.

He smiled before pulling me into his arms.

Hansung: (smiles) I just want to keep you for myself and never let go. I love you Minah.

Minah: (smiles) I love you too.

I hugged him back and held on until I was ready to let go.

Minah: (smiles) You're probably busy. I don't want you to miss class so go. I'll see you tomorrow.

Hansung: (pouts) Stay with me a little longer.

I laughed and nodded.

Minah: (smiles) Fine. But can't we find somewhere more private?

Hansung: (smiles) There's this other room by the infirmary. No one ever goes in there. It's empty and no one uses it. Oh and... there's a lock on the inside.

I felt myself blush and he helped me up. He held my hand and we walked towards the infirmary. There was another room, 2 doors down and he dragged me in there. He locked the door and immediately turned to look at me. I sat down and he slowly sat next to me.

Hansung: I decided... You're the one I want to marry... Will you marry me?

I smiled and nodded. If there's anyone I had to choose from in the entire world, it'd be him. He was made for me. He kissed me and slowly laid me down. We slowly undressed and we made love that night. The next day, we woke up early and changed back into our clothes. He kissed me before leaving and ran to his room. I was excited to tell my parents that we decided to get married. They would've been happy. Later that day, the king woke up and left the infirmary. I quickly went home to shower and change and then I went back. It was pretty quiet and it felt unusual. I heard yelling that sounded like my brothers. I followed it and walked into the room to see all the Hwarang's gathered in one room. There was someone on the floor but I couldn't tell who. I walked closer to see my brother holding someone in his arms.

Minah: Oppa?

He quickly looked at me and I looked at the person's face to see that it was Hansung. My heart dropped and I felt like I couldn't breath. I felt like everything came crashing down. My legs felt weak and I fell to my knees.

Minah: Hansung? This is a dream, right?

I slowly got closer and felt his face. That's when I knew this was real. Tears started rolling down my face and my throat started to hurt. It was so hard to speak. I pulled Hansung into my arms and I felt myself shaking.

Minah: Hansung. Wake up. Please... Wake up! Why are you leaving me so suddenly when you asked me to marry you last night?! You waited for that moment and I finally said yes last night! Hansung!... Please don't do this... Please...

My brother held me from behind and I just started crying harder. They soon took him out of my arms and I felt dead inside. I felt like this was a cruel joke. He was up and healthy this morning but now he's gone. A few hours passed and we held Hansung's funeral. Everyone but me cried. I just ran out of tears. Later that day, I went home. I couldn't think properly and everything hurt. I just wanted to end it. I grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed my stomach. No one was around so I was sure I'd die from blood loss. Everything went dark and I was sure I'd see Hansung in the afterlife. I saw a small ray of light and went to it. That's when I saw him.
