It's only 9 in the morning and Donghyuck just wouldn't stop pacing around his kitchen table, where he placed his phone screen flat on the table.
Last night on their date along Han River, while Mark closed his eyes and rested against the bench, Donghyuck may or may not had sneakily slipped his phone number into Mark's pocket.
Now it brings him to this frustration. Did he get it? Did he throw it away? When is he going to call?!? Those were all the thoughts that were running through his chaotic mind. After a solid 15 minutes of frantically walking around the kitchen then back into his room then out again, he decided to give up. Slopping hard against the marbled table, with his limbs dangling lifelessly on the surface and last but least, he huffed out loudly causing his undisposed tissue to fly across the edge.
"Aishh! What did I even expect from him?", Donghyuck got off of his seat and opened up his pantry to pull out a frying pan and two eggs.
As he cracked the egg into the heated pan, his phone ringtone went off. He cursed at himself for dropping the remaining shell into the pan as well. He turned off the stove and searched for his phone.
Picking it up immediately without looking at the caller ID.
"H-hello Mark?", he stuttered.
"Eeyy~ Hyung! What are you saying? Who is Mar- ok whatever", the familiar voice screamed through the other end of the phone. Donghyuck pulled it away from his ear and the ID appeared to be the one and only mighty Zhong Chenle.
"Ugh, what do you need?", he scoffed.
"Sheesh, someone's moody. Anyways, I needed to ask you, should I wear blue or red today? You know because I just dyed my hair blond-", Chenle blabbered but got cut off rudely by the Mr.Moody this morning.
"YAH! Eeey this kid", Donghyuck muttered under his breath. "Stop asking me these ridiculous questions. Wear whatever you like".
"But hyung, you're the one and only fashionista with sharp critics. You know I don't want to look bad and embarrass myself right, hyuck-hyungieee?", the kid whined cutely and Donghyuck could even hear him squishing his cheeks together through the phone.
He sighs. "Wear blue. Baby blue actually, you look cuter in baby blue. OK BYE IM HUNGRY", he advised before hanging up the call.
"Aish, what to do with that kid", Donghyuck scratched the back of his head before returning to back to the pantry and grabbed another egg.
As he walked to the stove, the ringtone went off again and the egg was perfectly cracked and splatted on the tiles. Storming off to the table he swiped the answer button and screamed, "WHAT NOW DONKEY FACE?!?".
There was silence on the other end. It bothered him because he was wasting his time.
"SAY SOMETHING!"
"Uhh... sorry Haechan-", the male sounded confused.
Donghyuck pulled his phone away from his ear once again only to meet the digits that he did not recognised. Oh fucken shit.
"Hello?", he called.
"O-oh, Mark...I'm sorry about that. I thought it was my bratty neighbour calling me again. I didn't mean to. I was going to makebreakfastbutthenIdroppedmyeggsonthefloorandnowim-", he blabbered.
"Haechan, slow down. It's only the morning, what got you so... heated?", Mark asked calmly.
YOU!!! Was what he want to scream but he thought about Mark's dog to calm him down. He shook his head refusingly, why was he thinking about Mark's dog. Whatever.
"Ah it's nothing, don't worry about me", Donghyuck said shyly, not wanting or ever going to admit that his head was wrapped around the thoughts of Mark.
Mark thought Donghyuck's voice was so warm, smoothing and mellow like melting butter. Boy thinks if that's how heaven sounds like, he's be ready to pack his bag and walk the staircases right at that moment.
"But I do worry about you", Mark smirked at the end of his sentence, thinking that he was probably the slickest guy out there.
Donghyuck stared into space and thought who the fuck does he think he is??? Not long after, he chuckled, not to mention, he also blushed. How is this foreign so capable of making him feel flustered? That's merely impossible.
"So you thought we'd have a second date huh?", he teased the younger.
"I- uh", the younger stuttered like never before.
"I'm considering it, pretty face", Mark teased again. At that moment Donghyuck just wanted to scream, cry and hang up the phone. But Mark's voice was like a drug.
"Ugh, so why did you decided to call?", Donghyuck managed to spit out.
"Just wanted to see how Haechannie is coping after the cheap beer and sunflowers", Mark admitted. Donghyuck was not a light weight drinker, so there was nothing to be aware of. Donghyuck kept on forgetting that he had introduced himself as 'Haechan' because that was the name of the florist's 6 year old son. (He goes to that florist store often). He turned on the tap to wash his hands and to distract himself.
"Dude, are you pissing while being on the phone with me? Oh? We're already at this stage?", Mark laughed.
"Oh shut it, would you", he lied. He loved it. "I'm hungry, let me just make some ramen and call it a day. I'm hanging up!", he wanted to cut their conversation short because this boy was already making him go insane.
"Wait wAIT!", Mark called out. "Let's go grab breakfast together. I'll be at your place in 5 minutes". Mark hung up.
Mark laid down on his couch with his phone in his hand, he laughed for not knowing where all of that confidence came from. He got up and searched for his keys and wallet and out the doors he goes. He didn't even bother changing because he pretty much sleep in a t-shirt and jogger pants.
"5 MINUTES?!? How? HOW CAN I EVEN GET READY IN 15 MINUTES?!?", he raged, clearly stressed out. To be very honest, Donghyuck looked like absolute shit. Nobody knows how it happened but he woke up with bed sheet marks on his face that spelt out "ass crack".
