I had gotten used to the Gallagher house by now, they were practically my second family, they all treated me like a little sister, probably my only family now.

I walked to the chair at the counter, tripping over a few clothes as my vision spiraled. I sat on the chair but missed it completely and fell to my aching feet, trying again I failed and everyone just watched as I fell to the ground, lying on my back, arms and legs spread a staring at the ceiling.

"How much did you drink?" Fiona asked, loudly and I winced, covering my ears, "You're not exactly a lightweight." She looked down at me as Ian and Lip just stared at me from the doorway.

I put my hands in front of my face, counting slowly until I ran out of fingers, my eyebrows furrowed until I sat up, and as if it was completely normal, started counting my toes until I ran out of them and turned on my butt, beckoning Lip to come over.

He sighed, pushing himself off the wall with his shoulder before crouching in front of me and I grabbed his fingers, adding another seven.

"How many was that?" I asked, staring at my fingers, Lip's fingers, and my toes in confusion, Ian just laughed lightly.

"Twenty-seven?" Fiona shouted and I groaned again, falling into Lip's chest. One hand traveled to my hair, stroking it whilst the other sat on my far shoulder, rubbing up and down with his thumb. Tears welled lightly in my eyes but none fell, not anymore.

"My life's over, who gives a fuck what drink." I hiccuped. Feet came tumbling down the stairs and I turned to face the person, finding Carl standing at my feet, a sympathetic look on his face. "Carl?"

"Hey." He whispered, crouching down to my level before moving over to my side and taking me from Lip's arms, into his as we both sat on the cold kitchen floor in silence, just enjoying each other's touch.

After a few seconds, I finally spoke up, "I'm sorry."

"What happened?" He mumbled into my hair.

"I didn't get into medical school, my parents were so pissed," I told him shaking my head, "They kicked me out, Carl." As tears welled up in my eyes for the umpteenth time this evening and I gripped onto his shirt.

He just kissed my head, rubbing his hands across my arms, "You can stay here." He spoke into my hair once again. I just leaned further into his chest, closing my eyes as he placed his chin on my head as if he knew that was my way of saying thank you.
