"Do you promise to call me tonight?"
"Yeah, of course babe, I wouldn't dream of forgetting." Zack told the groupie he hooked up with the night before, as she was getting into her cab home.
"Thanks again for the night, I'll talk to you soon, bye!" He quickly closed the door on the girl, he didn't even remember her name, before she could say another word.
Zack glanced down at the paper he gave her, it had the girl's number written on it in big loopy handwriting, and a little note at the bottom that read, "Please don't forget to call, Zacky! XOXO, Brittney."
He muttered, "Tch, I hate it when people call me Zacky." He crumpled the little note up and tossed it into the nearest trash can, and headed up to his hotel room.
---------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey! Zack, come out!" Zack herd Alex's banging on his hotel room door.
Zack got out of his bed, put the guitar he was using to create new melodies down, and went to answer the door.
"What? Man, its our time off, I was hoping to get a break from you guys." Zack told his old friend jokingly, but Alex's expression was serious. "Whats up? Is something wrong?"
"Yeah, do you remember Alice? The one who pronounced her name funny when you met her, Alis?"
"Um, yeah. That one really old friend of yous."
"Yeah, well she got hurt. Bad. I'll explain on the ride, but do you want to come with me to Baltimore early? We're gonna take Matt's car to go see her, me, Matt, Jack, Rian, Kara and Vinn are all going."
"Yeah, of course I'll come." Zack didn't know why, but Alis was one of those people you met, and we're just so nice and nieve that you felt like you had to take care of them.
"But how will we all fit in Matt's convertible?"
"Jack'll sit on my lap. Just hurry up, we're leaving at two, get down to the parking lot when you're ready."
Alex quickly ran back into his room, across the hall. He seemed rush to get back to Alis, and he didn't blame him. Even Zack felt some concern for the poor girl. He wondered how she got hurt, as he packed his bags and got ready to leave.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Well, here's all the info I got, its basically that this dude she was with, Elliott, came home drunk, was screaming at her, and beat her to the point that shes been knocked out for about thirteen hours. That's the what the neighbors told Lisa, and Lisa has been with her in the hospital since this morning." Alex told everyone in the car, as they drove down the highway towards the Baltimore hospital where Alis was at.
As soon as he herd what this moron did to Alis, Zack felt complete hatred toward him.

*Back to 1st person*
I woke up to the sound of a constant beeping, and opened my eyes to a fluorescent lighting. I tried to get out of the bed I was in, and moved my arm to remove the blankets over me, but I felt a little soreness at the inside of my left elbow. I looked down with a blurred vision to see an IV attached to me. I was in a hospital, and as soon as I shifted in my little bed, I could tell why. My legs felt almost completely numb, and I had a terrible pain in my abdomen. Along with that, my right shoulder was aching, and my nose felt broken. I herd someone else in the room, and called out, "Hello?"
Was that really my voice? I sounded terrible. I looked around to find a blonde sitting in a chair close to my bed.
"Oh, Alis, thank God you're awake. I should tell the doctors that you woke up, they'll wanna check on you." It was Lisa. I felt comforted to hear and see someone familiar, but I called out to her before she left.
"Wait, Lis, what happened?"
Lisa put her hand on the doorknob and turned her head to face me. "Eli."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Lisa didn't come back after the doctors left. What happened to her?
I waited at least an hour before anyone aside from nurses came, and to my relief, it was my best friend. Alex.
"Alis! We're here!"
"Alex!" I cried out, my voice hoarse .
"Sheesh, you don't sound that good. Lisa told me you got it pretty bad. I herd two broken ribs, one broken nose, one arm popped out of its socket, and two fractured legs."
"Yeah, you herd right." I said, as my room filled with seven others, aside from Alex. "Wow, you brought the whole group." All of Alex's band was there, both of the girlfriends, Lisa and Kira, the band's manager, Matt, and their merch manager, Vinny, who was pretty close to the band. Alex nodded and held my good hand.
"Alis, I'm really sorry I wasn't here to keep that douche from beating you, but I promise, it won't happen again, hell, all of us will take care of you, right guys?"
Everyone in the group nodded, even though I hardly knew some of them. I only met Vinny once, and Kira a couple times, but I knew Lisa, Matt, and the band pretty well but Alex and Jack were my best friends. I would come to a bunch of their concerts and be backstage with them, but the only band member I didn't connect with was Zack. He was always busy with other random girls.
"Allie, you so don't deserve this. I swear, on my right testicle, I'll make sure you get better really soon and you stay better." Jack told me, his inner child poking out. I laughed, but stopped right away, because it caused a sharp pain.
"Thanks, Jack-o." I croaked out, and Alex could tell how hard it was for me to act normal, and immediately ushered the group out.
"Alis, we're gonna be intown for a while, so we'll all be here to help you get better, okay? If you need anything, give me a call. I'm gonna run home and unpack, and stop by you place and get it ready for you. Lisa and Kara will be here though, so you'll be okay."
"Thanks, Lex, for everything. You're a life saver."
"Don't mention it, kid. Love ya, bye!" He called, running down the hall, probably after the group of guys.
"Bye, Lexy." I murmured, falling asleep once again.
