Barry Allen woke up in bed alone. He had thought that Laurel, his girlfriend, had managed to stumble into bed after working on her newest court case. Apparently, he was wrong.

When he walked out of their bedroom and into the living room, he saw the brunette Defense Attorney passed out at their living room table, her face in a jumble of papers.

He chuckled at the sight, knowing that Laurel had most likely worked all night, and fell asleep trying to come up with good arguments.

He crept up next to her, and nudged her shoulder with his hand. She groaned, and looked up at him. Her green eyes were unfocused, and she had a little bit of drool on her chin.

He smiled at her, gently wiping the drool away. "Go get some sleep. But this time, in the bed." He chuckled.

"Okay." She mumbled, half asleep. "But come with me." She tripped, and stumbled over one of the chairs. "Ouch." She muttered.

Barry picked Laurel up bridal style, and carried her into their room. He laid her on the bed, and she immediately curled up into a ball, and fell asleep.

Considering he didn't have to work today, he laid down in bed beside her, and she peeled her eyes open, and curled up next to him.

He wrapped a protective arm around her, and she laid her head on his chest. Her breaths were steady and calm.

Barry planted a kiss on Laurel's forehead. "I love you Pretty Bird."

She stirred, and gently murmured, "I love you too."

He intertwined their hands, and eventually he fell asleep, feeling the rhythmic beat of Laurel's heart against his ribs.

When he woke, sunlight was filtering through the maroon curtains.

Laurel was still next to him, but she was awake. She was looking at him, a smile plastered on her face. "Why didn't you wake me?" He asked, and she settled more comfortably into his arms.

"You looked so peaceful." Her voice was soft, like she didn't want to break the calm silence of the room.

The sunlight brought out blonde highlights in her hair, and he ran his fingers through it. "You're beautiful." He said. "Oliver is a jackass to not realize how lucky he would've been to have you."

Laurel placed her hand over his heart. "Then we wouldn't be together."

He rubbed gentle circles over the back of her hand. "True."

"And since he and Felicity got divorced, he seems much happier with Kara." Laurel replied.

"I thought marriages between different universes are illegal." Barry said, scrunching his brows together.

"They are, but they aren't married." Laurel said.

Barry kissed the bridge of Laurel's nose. "I don't want to leave here." He murmured, pulling Laurel closer to him.

"I don't either." She said, resting her head on his chest.

Their lives were crazy.

He worked for CSI, and she was a Defense Attorney.

Barry was also the Flash, and Laurel was his partner in crime, the Black Canary.

So these simple moments, such as laying in bed together, was what they both enjoyed.

Laurel sat up, and swung her legs off the bed. She stood, yawning as she stretched. He also stood up, and walked to Laurel's side of the bed.

He scooped her up into his arms, and she laughed, burying her face into the crook of his neck.

She put her hands on his cheeks. "Barry Allen, I love you." She kissed him gently as he carried her out of their room.

"I love you too." Barry said, grinning at her.

She buried her face into the crook of his neck again.

She smelled like cinnamon.

Laurel always smelled like cinnamon.

He sat down on the couch, and held Laurel in his arms. "We should go to S. T. A. R. Labs later and see if we're needed." Laurel murmured, gently playing with a strand of Barry's brunette hair.

"We should." He said, kissing her shoulder. "How about I make some coffee, then we go?"

"Why don't we get coffee on the way?" She asked.

"We can do that." Barry replied.

When they left their apartment, Laurel took Barry's hand in hers, intertwining their fingers.

Her fingers were rough and calloused, a result from being a vigilante in Star City.

Now she was one of Central City's best heroes, after moving there from Star City.

When they arrived at S. T. A. R. Labs, Cisco already had a job for them. "Yo lovebirds!" He shouted as they entered the Cortex. "We need you guys!" Barry heard Caitlin quietly scold Cisco.

The two seemed to have gotten closer over the last few months.

He and Laurel had made a bet, Barry thinking Cisco and Caitlin weren't together, and Laurel thinking that Cisco and Caitlin were together.

Laurel sipped her coffee as they walked into the Cortex. "Before you guys go," Caitlin said quickly, "Cisco and I have something to tell you."

Cisco walked up to Caitlin and took her hand. "We're... uh... a thing now."

Laurel grinned at her friends. "Congrats guys!"

They went to get suited up for a robbery at Central City Bank.

Barry gave Laurel a head start, but outran her motorcycle. "Barry you owe me twenty dollars!" She said over her comm.

"Now's not the time, Pretty Bird." Barry replied.

"Fine, but after." Laurel said.

"Fine. Just get here." Barry said, sighing.

When Laurel got to the scene, Barry was waiting for her. He sped in the front door, and she climbed up the side of the building, and in through the window.

She pulled out her nightstick, and hit the Meta over the head with it.

He had the ability of telekinesis.

One of his friends, was able to produce a narcotic from the tips of his fingers. He snuck up behind Laurel, and touched his fingers to her neck.

Her vision blurred, and she collapsed on the floor. The Meta picked her up, and sprinted out the door.

Barry had been too busy to realize that Laurel was gone.

When he knocked out the last criminal, he looked around. "Laurel?" He called.

She was gone.

He activated his comm. "Cisco, Cait we have a problem."
