I'm walking to the bus stop in boots and jeans. Not the best choice for the summer but hey, it's comfortable. I make it to the bus stop I sit down. I see that it's 6:15, tht means it's five minutes until the next bus comes by.

I look around to see hardly anyone on the road at this hour. This is what I like. Quiet places when you know that within 20 mins, it'll be busy with cars and jay walking pedestrians. I see the street lamps turn off, it's darker for now but it'll be bright soon. I can already see the rays of light coming through the buildings.

I watch as the rays of light get closer to bus stop. Out of the hundred of rays that come through, there's always one that seems to come right after me. I look up to the top of the bus stop canopy, the ray has gotten pretty far today.

Just as it's about to shine over me, the bus pulls up and blocks it. Everyday, same time, the ray gets blocked by the bus. I get on and see that Jimmy is tired, like every morning.

"Morning Jimmy. How's Datschel? Still barking at furniture?"

He looks over with bags under his eyes, "I'm afraid she's back at the vet. One of her stitches came loose and she started bleeding."

I pay my fee and sit right behind him.

"Oh no. Is she ok?"

Jimmy starts driving the bus, but keeps talking to me. He speaks up since we're the only ones on the bus.

"Jasmine is with her now. I had to get to work today."

I lean forward so he can hear me,

"Jimmy, you should be with Datschel. I'm pretty sure you can find a replacement for today."

He stops to pick up a college student, who puts his bike on the rack before getting on the bus. He sits towards the back, which gives me and Jimmy more time to talk.

"I almost called in sick today." He said as he continued down Homeland Street. "But Jasmine said that I needed to go to work today. She doesn't want me to miss anymore days since I took a lot of time off when se first went to the vet."

I think about that week he was gone. It was hard for him, seeing Datschel get hit and taking her to the vet.

"Jimmy, you know everyone at transit loves that little Sherrier. Im sure they'll understand if you take a few more days off to be with her."

He just nodded and continued his route. Jimmy wasn't one to agree but when he nods it means that he's in deep thought. I patted him on the shoulder and said,

"You think it over Jimmy. Looks like you have to focus on your route right now."

He nodded in agreement and continued down the street. I walked to the back and sat down at my seat. Which happened to be in front of the college student. I put in my earphones and started listening to music. I was about rest my head against the window to sleep but I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I jumped a bit and looked to see who it was. It was Scarlett, the girl I met yesterday. She seemed just as startled as me when I jumped. She giggled and I started to blush.

"Can I sit next to you?" She asked quietly.

I looked around to see that the bus was quite full, I didn't realize I slept some.

"Sure, why not?" I answered with a smile. She sat down and I adjusted myself so that I'm more against the window, just so she could have more room. I tried to do so discreetly but she saw it.

"I'm not going to bite you. I just wanted to sit down." She said with a smile.

I looked at her, blushing, and said,

"I was just giving you more room to sit down."

She looked at me and she smirked.

"So you're calling me fat? I've known you for less than an hour and you're falling me fat?"

I looked at her in while apologetic eyes and stuttered an apology.

"I-I'm...sorry."

She held her head in her hands and started laughing. She looked up at me only to start laughing some more.

"You thought....you thought I was....hahahaha....why would I think that??"

She said between laughs. Ohhh this woman will find anyway to laugh.

"You little trickster." I replied with a smile and gave her a little push.

"Hey." She said, "No touchy!" And then she pushes me against the window.

I was a bit surprised on how strong she was. I pushed back and she looked at me with this accomplished look on her face.

I smiled and started asking her questions about her day. We talked the whole ride over. I couldn't believe we talked for about an hour. I saw my stop coming up and asked if I could get by.

She stood up to let me by and as I went to the door she tripped me. I almost fell but I caught the bar. I looked back to see her with a mischievous grin on her face.

"Watch your step silly." She said as the doors opened.

I smiled and at her and got off. She must have like you. Ha! No duh! But I'm getting ahead of myself here. I mean, what's the one thing we have in common. We ride the same bus. Even after an hour of talking with her, she's not into what I like. Games, running, staying up late to finish homework. She's college-bound with a trust find to help get her there.

I get to school just as the bell rings for 2 half to begin. I got here to see the lower class man rush out of here to see their mommies at the front of the school with snacks and hugs. Of course you see the exact opposite with the upperclassman, walking in half dead with caffeine filled drinks in their hands. No happiness, no hugs. Well, except those couples that hug and kiss every morning.

I walk past them to get to me locker. You remember the combination? Oh that's right, you never saw it. Haha I enter the combo and open my locker. The sight of old papers and textbooks, what better sight could I see in the morning? Then it hits me.

"I swear if you bring up Scarlett I will do my best to slug you."

I close my locker and walk over to my class room, but as I'm about to enter I feel really queasy. Just a wave of nausea comes over me. Oh god, I better not throw up on anyone or I'll never hear the end of it.

I turn around and almost run into a tall kid in black.

"Sorry." I quickly say and run to the restrooms. I throw the door open and sprint to the first open stall.

BLEH!!

The sound of me gagging and puking echo through the empty restroom. I flush it and slowly walk over to the sink to wash out my mouth. I spit out the water and wash my face with cold water. As I'm drying off the water I hear an all too familiar sound.

BANG! BANG!

Gunshots!! I look around for a place to hide. What do I do?? Instantly my eyes shoot over to the door. Can I make it?
