Sky's POV

I whipped round as a strangled scream cut through the thick atmosphere. Ty frowned and helped FireSpark to her feet; with one quick slash his sword cut through her chains. "Thanks." He dipped his head to her. "Welcome." Another scream resonated through the arena amidst the panicky shouts and cries of the trapped spectators. The crowds parted for a second and I glimpsed Derp wrenching a sword out of someone. His crooked eyes were narrowed and filled with anger and bloodlust. His head snapped up and he glared at me before I lost sight of him. I turned to Ty and FireSpark. "We're in trouble. Derp is murdering people left, right and centre. Our only chance is to escape from the arena before he kills-" I was cut off as a searing pain cut through my thoughts. I could feel a warm, sticky liquid soaking into my leg. I looked down, squinting through the blinding pain; just in time to see Derp pull the sword out of my leg. I fell to the ground, crying out in pain. Ty yelled in anger and attacked Derp. FireSpark went down on her knees beside me and applied pressure to the wound, hoping to stem the bleeding to a certain extent. "It's gonna be ok Sky, just stay with me!" I looked up and saw Ty tackle Derp as they went down. FireSpark grabbed my arm and hauled me to my feet, half-carrying, half-dragging me away from the fight. I staggered to the side, the rushing crowds and screams blurring around me as my vision failed. My leg began to stop bleeding...but I knew I was still gonna black out anyway. The last thing I saw before the arena faded away was Ty as he battled on with Derp...

Derp SSundee's POV

Anger erupted within me as I flung myself at Deadlox, attempting to drive my sword between his shoulder blades. He whipped round and threw his fist into my face as I dodged to the side. He ducked as I swiped my sword over his head and narrowly missed his headphones. "Stay still won't you?!" He stared at me. "Like I'm really gonna stay still when you're trying to kill me!" I narrowed my eyes and kicked him in the chest. He hit the ground and I stood over him, holding my sword aloft and grinning in a twisted, psychotic sort of way. He twisted round and lashed out, catching me in the shin. I dropped to the ground as he stood up planting his foot on my chest; I snarled and grabbed his leg, twisting it round. He cried out in pain and fell. Out of the corner of my eye I glimpsed Sky being dragged away by FireSpark. I narrowed my eyes and threw Deadlox off of me, standing up and lunging at Sky. He yelled in horror and FireSpark's claws slid out. I growled and grabbed her arm; she hissed and her eyes glowed bright red. I was starting to think I'd bitten off more than I could chew. Everything slowed down; people blurred around me and the only thing I could see was her face, twisted in anger and hate. My vision went red and I roared in anger, throwing myself at her. Her eyes widened as she hit the ground.

FireSpark's POV

Crap. That was all I could think. My brain wasn't processing things at it's normal rate. My heart raced as I grabbed his shoulders, trying to push him off of me. His eyes were narrowed and through them I could see the madness within. I struggled weakly, he'd trapped me in an iron grip. He snarled at me and I was jarred by the thought that less than an minute ago this had been SSundee. In less than 10 seconds he'd shifted in some sort of beast; intent upon killing anyone and anything in its path. I shut my eyes tight. "Please! I don't want to hurt you or SSundee!" There was a brief moment of silence, then I felt the weight leave my body. I opened my eyes and saw Derp standing above me, eyes narrowed in suspicion. "You...don't want to hurt us?" I shook my head furiously. He nodded slowly and was about to sheath his sword when his crooked eyes widened. I watched in horror as the jagged end of an iron blade slid out of his stomach. He looked down in shock and disbelief as it was wrenched out. Derp's sword dropped from his grasp and clattered on the ground as his eyes rolled back into his head as he slumped to the ground, revealing his attacker. It was the man who claimed to be Brotato's father. He cleaned the blade and looked at SSundee's lifeless body in some sort of sick satisfaction. "Only good murderer is a dead one." Ty stood up, trembling slightly from the strain on his sore limbs. "Why'd you do that?" I was paralysed in horror. SSundee couldn't be dead...could he?! No: SSundee had told me that Derp could heal 10x faster than the average Minecraftian. He'd probably started healing already by now. The man tossed the bloody sword to Deadlox who caught it deftly. "You knew Tyler didn't you?" Ty stared at the sword in a mixture of shock and anguish. "Y-yeah." The man smiled coldly. "Finish the job then, it's about time he was avenged." I stared in disbelief as the wound in Derp's chest started to heal. The man glared at Ty. "Get on with it then!" Deadlox growled. "Sir, if I kill him, I kill my friend. He had nothing to do with all this. He's innocent." I saw Sky stagger to his feet after his brief blackout and stumble towards the metal mesh, at the corner of the arena over the back of the stands. Then he began to hack at it with his sword. I turned my attention back to the scene unfolding before me. The wound in Derp's chest was nearly healed. By now the majority of the spectators had been evacuated and some of the guards were closing in on us.

In the spur of the moment I seized Derp and hauled him up. Brotato's father eyed me warily. "I'm not finished with your friend yet." I glared at him. "Yes you are." I drew back my fist and smashed it into his face. He wheeled backwards, dazed, straight into the arms of a prison guard. The guard glowered at me and tossed him to the ground, drawing his sword. "You're not escaping! Not on my watch convict!" I felt Derp stir in my arms; craning my neck round I looked at him upside down. The breath caught in my throat as his eyes snapped open. They were straight; great timing SSundee. The guard's eyes widened as Ty hit him on the back of the head. I pursed my lips and shifted my grip on SSundee; hauling him up so I was carrying him bridal-style. I looked up and saw Sky wildly gesturing to the gaping hole he'd hacked in the mesh. We were escaping! SSundee's blue eyes were open wide, burning with confusion and pain. "What happened?" I looked at him. "I'll explain later." He noticed the blood smeared on his suit and sighed sadly. "He did it again...didn't he?" I pursed my lips. "Not all of that blood is yours." He stared at me as I carried on walking quickly towards the stands. Deadlox was holding back the guards behind us, but he could fend them off forever. "The blood is mine?" I nodded. "Brotato's father tried to kill you. We stopped him." SSundee nodded slowly, then his eyes closed. I stared at him. We'd arrived at the stands. Sky gestured to Deadlox to run as I placed my head gingerly on Ian's chest, searching for a pulse. I sighed in relief; it was still there. I stepped through the hole in the arena fencing as Ty sprinted for the stands, 20 or more guards behind him. His face was scratched and his clothes were tattered and frayed at the edges. He wiped his bloody nose with his sleeve as he ran, nearly dislodging his cracked headphones. He checked behind him and I saw him grit his teeth before whipping back round and leaping upwards. Sky braced himself and lurched forward, catching his friend and tossing him through behind him. By this time, I was scaling the stairs leading round the arena; the various walkways used by the prison guards. Ty fell down after me and collided with us. We ended up tumbling onto the ground. I looked up just in time to see Sky fall down too. We scrambled to our feet as the guards started to descend after us. "C'mon guys! We know a safe place!" I ran after Sky and Deadlox, SSundee still unconscious in my arms. But the important thing was we'd escaped...we were free...
