Elizabeth woke somewhere new to her. She felt like she was laying on a giant, fluffy cloud. Above her, she could see a white ceiling with a crystal chandelier in the center. She sat up in the dark purple bed and looked around the room.
The walls were whiter than snow, a violet rug on the floor. Against the wall across from her bed, a mahogany desk stood under a large window and a line of bookshelves on each side of the window, covering the whole wall. On the right side of her bed, there were two, black wood doors. She moved the blanket, still wearing her clothes from the night she met Lucifer, and walked to the doors, looking inside the large walk-in wardrobe. She must have been in the new place for a while as all the clothes inside the wardrobe were her size.
On the opposite side of the room were glass doors leading to a balcony. Walking around the bed, she opened the glass doors and stepped on to the chilly balcony. Outside, she saw a large forest with dark red leaves and black branches. Below was a large town with houses, a shopping mall, the usual city things. She turned to look at the building she was in and found herself staring at a palace built from dark grey stone.
Inside the room, the door opened, Lucifer walking in with a tray of food.
"Good morning, Elizabeth," he said cheerfully. "I'm glad to see you're awake. You've been unconscious for around 5 days."
"Five days!?" She yelled in complete shock.
"Don't worry, you're safe here with me and Lily."
"Who's Lily?"
As she said this, a young woman with pale skin and red hair walked in. Her eyes were the same shade of red as Lucifer's own. She wore a simple, black, turtleneck dress down to her knees with black ankle boots.
"Sorry about him, Lucifer here has no manners," she laughed. "Anyway, welcome to our home, Elizabeth."
"Not to be rude," Elizabeth said nervously. "But... I'd rather you didn't use that name for me... Too many memories hold onto that name."
Lucifer put the tray of food on the desk. "Well, what would you prefer to be called?"
"I don't know."
Lily sat on the bed, folding one leg over the other. "I think the better question is... Would you like to stay?"
"Lily, the girl and I made a deal-"
She cut him off quickly. "Yes!"
They both looked at her in shock.
"Really?" Lily questioned.
"If you agree to this, there's no going back," Lucifer warned. "Your life will never be normal."
She smirked. "Normal is boring. Call me Raven. It's what my mother called me before she died."
Lily smiled and stood, hugging Raven in a tight embrace. She smiled in the woman's embrace, silently hoping she would be happy in the palace with them.
*Later*
It was the end of the day and Raven was getting ready for bed. She had come to learn that although they were living in the Realm of Hell, it is more like a kingdom. The people in the town are what Lucifer calls, 'Creatures of Darkness', including Vampires, Shadow People, Reapers and other creatures. But one thing that pleased her, was her new pet. A Hell Hound pup, no bigger than her leg but would soon grow to the height of a horse.
Before bed, Raven went downstairs to get a drink of water, seeing Lily sitting there reading a newspaper, a young Cerberus laying at her feet.
"Can I ask you a question, Lily?" Raven pondered.
"Of course, dear," she replied cheerfully.
"When you asked if I wanted to stay, you seemed desperate for me to agree. Why?"
Lily frowned slightly, putting down the newspaper before looking up at Raven.
"Lucifer and I have tried for many years to have a child of our own. But we were always unsuccessful. We both desperately wanted a child. So we came to an agreement. If he could find a child struggling, in need of a better life, we would adopt them if they wanted us to. That's when he found you."
Raven looked at the woman. "I'm so sorry, I didn't know..."
"It's alright, child, we're happy to have you here and we will treat you with the love and care you deserve."
"But how have no people found this place?"
"Because this isn't on Earth," Lucifer replied. "It is a Realm. There is an entrance to every country. In America, the entrance is through my casino in Vegas, The Devil's Playground. But only people who know it exists can enter. The same for... Heaven." He shuddered at the word, causing the two girls to laugh. "Their entrance is in the White House. Jesus lives and goes by the name Joe Naz Jnr. He's the owner of Joe and Sons Carpentry in D.C. in honor of his father."
"Then how can he enter his own home if he's a carpenter?" Raven pondered.
"The White House buys their furniture and wooden furnishings from him, and the agents there are Jesus' angels, who grant him access into the building to go home."
"Clever, but kinda suspicious. I mean if a normal everyday carpenter is seen walking into the White House like it's a public park, won't people get suspicious?"
"He does it when no one will see him. Late at night."
Raven was surprised but still didn't change her opinion about staying. She just smiled.
"Well then," she said cheerfully. "I'm going to bed."
"Goodnight!" Lily and Lucifer said as she walked up the stairs. The went back into her room and settled into bed, reading her book with her Hell Hound, Chester, at her feet. She read for almost an hour before turning off her light and finally falling asleep in her new bed in her new home with her new family.
