When she walked into the kitchen, all heads turned to her. The first person she noticed was a guy. A red-headed boy with freckles, pale skin, and green eyes. He was wearing a black shirt and jeans with Nike sneakers on, a skull tattoo on his shoulder. A gift she had from Lucifer was that she could see auras. His was tainted. He appeared to have trouble with the law before but it was overlooked so he could attend the University.

The second person she noticed was a girl. Brown-haired with the same green eyes, tanned and what looked like smooth skin. She wore a pair of denim shorts, sandals and a navy tank top. Her aura was pure, always a goody two shoes but a rich girl. Possibly European.

The last person she noticed, she was shocked. A guy sat there with blonde hair, blue eyes, and very pale skin. He was wearing a red flannel and grey sweatpants with a pair of Adidas sneakers. His aura was purer than the other girls, never a problem with the law, another goody two shoes but with a poorer background. But in her eyes, he was gorgeous.

"Uh, can we help you?" The red-haired boy said.

It was then she snapped out of the stare and realized she needed to say something. "Oh, um, I'm the new housemate, Ra-"

She was cut short by the other girl. "Raven Dawn?" she questioned.

"Yes, that's me."

Then they all smiled, settled at the fact she wasn't someone trying to hurt them. A bark suddenly echoed through the house and all heads turned. Ash walked in proudly, while Chester charged in with his tail wagging vigorously.

"Are these your dogs?" the girl asked.

"Yes, the black one is Ash, the brown and white one is Chester."

Instantly she was kneeling down playing with them. Chester seemed to enjoy it while Ash lay his head in her lap. Then, the red head boy stood.

"I'm Russel, but you can call me Russ." He shook her hand with a smile. "This is Sofia, a huge animal lover. Spanish too."

"I noticed," Raven giggled. Then the blonde boy stood. He was a lot taller than she was, reminding her slightly of her real father. But instead of the dark frown, he smiled.

"Christopher, Chris is fine though," he also shook her hand. Ignore the mess in the living room, no one has decided on rooms yet, we wanted to make sure everyone was here before we make choices. But everyone seems to want the big room."

"Well, I'm not too fussy about room size, once it's comfy. But I have an idea to decide who gets it."

Sofia stood and they all looked at her.

"Rock, paper, scissors. Me against Sofia and the boys against each other. Whoever wins that round goes against each other."

Everyone nodded in agreement and Raven turned to face Sofia.

"Rock, paper, scissors!" They both called. Raven pulled scissors. Sofia pulled paper, huffing slightly but still smiling.

They turned to watch the boys. Christopher pulled paper. Russel pulled rock. Like Sofia, Russel huffed a bit but also smiled. Now, it was between Christian and Raven.

"Rock, paper, scissors!" They called, and the final match was won. Raven pulled scissors. Christopher pulled rock, winning the big room. They all smiled and laughed.

"OK, since Raven came second, she gets the second largest room. The other two rooms are the same size so Russ and Sofia can decide between themselves."

Raven turned to the two dogs. "Ash, Chester, wanna help out?"

They both barked happily, Ash staying to help Sofia while Chester helped Raven.

"How can he help me?" Sofia asked Raven.

"Easy. When he helps me with backpacks, he can either carry it in his jaw or on his own back. Watch how Chester helps me."

She crouched down, grabbing one of her bags. He put his paw through the shoulder strap and when the bag sat on his back, put his paw through the other. Raven tightened the straps slightly and pointed to another bag. "Can you grab that one, boy?" she asked, standing and picking up two of her boxes. Chester walked over, used his jaw to pick up the bag and brought it upstairs for her.

"How did you train them to do that?" She asked.

"A lot of time homeschooling does things to you, gives you ideas. I put treat crumbs on the handle of an old bag and left a trail of crumbs leading up to my room, after a while, I started using words and soon he got the hint. Ash was trained the same way by my mom."

Sofia stared in awe as the dog went upstairs with the bag. When he came back down, she turned to look at Ash, seeing he's already holding a bag in his jaws. She giggled with excitement before grabbing her own stuff.

Raven laughed and brought her stuff upstairs to her room. She put the boxes down and took the bag off Chester's back, sending him down for another bag. She looked around the room, seeing a closet, a bookshelf, desk, night stand, and a large bed under the window. A few single shelves were also on the walls with a vanity set, the chair having wheels to be moved from the work space to the vanity.

As Raven left the room to grab more boxes, she almost walked right into Russ and Chris, carrying the last of her boxes.

"Oh, thanks guys, you shouldn't have," she said.

"It was the least we could do," Russ chuckled. "Where do you want them?"

"Just put them with the rest, I was about to unpack the first box."

"Need a hand?" Chris offered with a smile.

"No thanks, I'm sure I can manage it alone."

They both nodded and put the boxes in with the rest. Raven looked at the boxes that were all labeled by their contents, unsure where to start. After wondering for a minute, she decided to tackle the most annoying box. Her PC and computer attachments.
