Raven sighed."I'm fine dad, Chris and I didn't get hurt in the fight, and no one saw us."
"Good," Lucifer responded. "You know what would happen if you were seen."
"I know, but I hate keeping secrets like this."
"It's necessary for us to be safe. I better go, I have meetings and you have homework. I'll call you again next week, Raven. I love you my little demon."
"I know dad, I love you too."
Lucifer smiled a little as he hung up the phone. Raven's hatred of keeping secrets came from him. He hated it as well, but more so when he was keeping them from his family.
Lucifer walked in silence to the conference room where he would be meeting his generals and blacksmiths. He stopped to look at the portrait of his family, himself sitting on his black throne with Lily standing by his side and a young Raven sitting on his knee.
Lucifer was woken from his daydream by the sound of Lily clearing her throat behind him. He looked at her with a shy smile.
"You miss her, don't you?" Lily asked him with a giggle.
"Of course I do," he replied. "Don't you?"
"Isn't it obvious? I keep grabbing three plates instead of two whenever I make dinner and I keep making too much."
Lucifer laughed and hugged his wife. She wrapped her arms around his waist, enjoying the moment before speaking again.
"Did you tell her?" She asked.
"No," Lucifer confirmed. "And I don't plan to yet. I don't want to ruin her studies."
Lily nodded and let him go. "Everyone is waiting for you."
Lucifer nodded, going inside the conference room as everyone watched him with nervous yet curious eyes.
"It has come to my attention," Lucifer announced as he sat in his chair at the top of the table. "That the Holy Son has declared a war on us."
It was the law that the real name of the Holy Son was never to be used in Lucifer's presence, but no one understood why not even Lily. Everyone stared in shock before a general spoke up.
"Why would the Holy Son threaten us with war? What have we done that's so horrible?"
"It's not what we as a nation have done, it's what I as the leader have done. He is demanding I bring Raven home so she does not threaten the society around her." Lucifer sighed, as he knew Raven would never forgive him if he forced her home.
"Raven is the sweetest girl this hellhole has known, if you'll excuse the pun." Lucifer couldn't help but laugh as the general continued. "What harm could she possibly do to society? Sure she got into a fight, but it was all out of self-defense against people who deserve to be in Hell."
Lucifer stood from his seat and walked to the window. "I will not bring Raven home, where she is now is where she's wanted to go for years, I refuse to take that joy from her."
In the reflection of the glass, Lucifer could see them all nod in agreement. He returned to his seat and turned to the general.
"How many can we expect to fight beside the Holy Son?" He queried.
"He might be strange, but he wouldn't drag innocent souls into his battle, he'll only call upon his Angels. Considering how many there are and how many are willing to fight, around 2,000 to 3,000."
"How many would fight with us?"
"Considering our army alone, we're at an equal balance. However, if I may, My Lord, we've all seen Raven in training, if she were to fight-"
Lucifer slammed his hands on the table as he rose again from his seat, immediately silencing the General. "I don't care how skilled my daughter is in combat, I will not drag her into this war! She doe not deserve it, she deserves the happiness she has up there with her friends."
The general remained silent and simply nodded. Lucifer lowered himself back into his seat before turning to the blacksmith.
"Would you have weapons and armor made in time?" Lucifer asked.
The blacksmith nodded. "Of course, My Lord, I have the finest workers in the kingdom, we'll have weapons and armor ready before the end of the month."
"Good. We need everything we can get."
Lucifer sighed. He knew Raven would be a strong asset in the battle. But the Holy Son also had an adopted child, who's skill and strength was unknown to anyone in Hell. Raven had skills, and everyone knew it, but with the boys skill unknown, for all he knew he was stronger than her and smarter. He was not about to lose his daughter to the hands of the Holy Son.
