Dissociation

The air was heavy inside the elevator. The two men exchanged quick glances every now and then as a cloud of confusion loomed over their heads. They didn't understand the sudden change in attitude, and the continuous clicking of the gun in her hands as Kerres stared at the door of the elevator without batting an eyelash. Something about her expression was dark, and both Jungkook and Taehyung could feel it in their bones. She seemed anxious and agitated ever since the car ride to the hotel where the Green Flowers were staying. Even when Taehyung struck up a conversation, and even when Jungkook tried to get her attention by continuously being quirky and a tease, there was no response nor any reaction from the woman who seemed to be in a continuous battle in her mind.

As if she was a predator who got a whiff of her prey's scent and ready to pounce at them, Kerres dashed off as soon as the elevator door opened to the eight floor. Exchanging worried looks with each other, the two men ran after her, worried for Kerres and her sudden change of demeanor, and worried that something, somehow, would go wrong. They had already sensed that their secret mission had turned more serious in the span of fifteen minutes, and they feared that there would be unnecessary turn of events.

"Ker, wait."

Jungkook called to the woman who turned a deaf ear to his calls and continued in a fast pace, so sure of her destination.

"I told you to fucking wait, Kerres!"

Jungkook shouted unintentionally as he grabbed hold of the woman who was aiming her M1911 at the door, turning her to face him with force. His sudden action making her stand way too close than he expected. He could smell her vanilla shampoo from where he was standing, the scent of her Chanel No.5 was deeply alluring from just a few inches away. Their eyes were locked in each other's, one filled with worry, shuddering a little from the sudden rush of emotion to his heart. The other on the one hand, was clouded with panic, and behind the panic in her eyes, Jungkook saw something far bigger, anger. His tongue glided over his chapped lips the moment his eyes glanced over at her slightly parted red lips, making his heart throb for unknown reasons. He would've explored that unknown feeling, and perhaps, maybe even have a chaste taste of her cherry lips just to make sure, and find out why at that moment, he wanted to do nothing but get lost in her eyes as he drowned in her scent. He would've,  without much thought as to why he felt that way towards the woman he was careful around, and without worrying about the consequences. If only he had missed the frustration in her eyes, he would've gone for it.

"What's gotten into you, Ker? You can't just barge in like that. What if there are more of them, and possibly armed? "

Taehyung said in a sharp whisper out of worry, afraid that the people inside the room would hear about the commotion, and completely missing the tension between the two. She got his heart racing from worry for a second there, and he was not ready to get enemy's blood on his favourite pair of Gucci shoes. Before any of them could utter more words, and before Kerres could calm herself down and explain her actions, the door to room 207 suddenly opened. The man in the faded brown leather jacket looked at the three of them, who were in an awkwarrd position, eyebrows raised in a questioning manner.

"Who are you? "

For a moment, the three of them stopped breathing, and the curses they were spitting out in their heads were loud enough from the look of pure shock and horror from the sudden appearance of one of the Green Flowers. This was an truly an unexpected turn of event.

"Uh-oh. "

Those were the only words that appeared in Taehyung's head as his shocked eyes stared right back at the man's own confused ones.

" Well, its too late to turn back now. "

In the split of a second, Kerres had aimed her gun right at the man's head, shocking the three men in process. The man's eyes shifted from the barel of the loaded gun that was aimed right at his forehead, to the mysterious woman in the mask, lips forming a smirk as her dark eyes penetrated right through his soul.
