Old Friends and Evasion

" What's the deal with you guys? "

Upon hearing his voice, Jungkook turned to his right and was met with a breathless Yugyeom who had just returned from working out. He looked at his bestfriend with eyes filled with confusion and an eyebrow raised.

"What do you mean? "

Downing the bottle of water to quench his thirst from all the running and weight lifting, Yugyeom stared back at his confused friend.

"You and Mark hyung, and of course,  Kerres. "

Yugyeom clearly did not buy the nonchalant shrug he got from the other, as if he didn't know what the hell he was talking about.

" I don't know what you are even blabbering about, Yugyeom. Nothing's going on. "

Jungkook retreated his gaze from a suspicious looking Yugyeom, and accidentally land his eyes on Kerres and Bambam, sunbathing out on the patio. He watched as her lips moved efficiently as she was conversing with the long legged man, beads of sweat on the side of her forehead, sparkling on her skin under the hot sun, and trickling down on her evident collarbones. Her hair which was tied up in a bun gave his eyes access to her slender and smooth neck. Yugyeom, watching Jungkook's vision, scoffed at his friend who was practically stripping Kerres mentally and eyefucking her.

"I've been here for only one night and I can still sense the tension between you three, Jungkook. I'd say you don't hold such great feelings towards Mark hyung with all your sarcastic comments and many eye rolls whenever he is in your sight. "

Yugyeom was quick to catch on things, and the fact that he could tell in just a matter of one night that Jungkook was not so fond of Mark, made the latter chuckle, leaving him to think whether he was being too obvious.

"But then, Kerres. I can't really tell what's between you guys. One second you seem to look like you're annoyed by her, irritated even. But then again, you're openly eyefucking her right now. "

Jungkook ripped his gaze away abruptly from the beautiful creature who shone like a goddess under the sun, to throw a nasty look at Yugyeom who only wiggled his eyebrows at him.

" What the fuck Yugyeom!?  I was seriously not eyefucking her!"

The way Jungkook was trying to defend himself was amusing to his friend. Yugyeom made teasing sounds which only further added to the other's annoyance. Seeing that his immature friend was not going to give up teasing him any time soon, Jungkook mumbled a 'Whatever' and shifted hia gaze back to the patio, where he saw Mark, now on top of Kerres, giving her back light massages as he applied sunscreen lotion to it. Yugyeom did not, for a second, miss the slight twitch in Jungkook's eyes as he witnessed the scene, and he most certainly did not miss him poking his cheek with his tongue when Mark playfully placed light kisses on her back and earning him a slap from Kerres. Such an action out of habit, Yugyeom knew it was what Jungkook always did when he was pissed off. Shaking his head at his friend who was in denial, Yugyeom sighed.

" They seem really close, don't they?"

Yugyeom's words was left hanging as Jungkook made no effort for a reply. He didn't feel the need to give such an obvious answer when the answer itself was laid out in front of their eyes to see, as if on purpose to torment Jungkook, because from what his friend noticed, eventhough Jungkook himself may deny it or perhaps might not even know, he looked pretty annoyed, as of his most disliked show was on replay over and over.

" Chill, man. I don't think they'll get to that level of labelling their relationship anytime soon. "

Out of pity, Yugyeom reassured his friend, who looked at him with all confusion. Not even caring to question why he needed to chill, or evwn retort and tell him that he was as chill as he could ever be, he jumped on to throw a question knowing that Yugyeom's words sometimes never made sense.
