Nikki's POV
She almost saw! She almost saw my scales! I was panicking. What if she told someone and now they are looking for me? She didn't come to school today...so does that mean?
No. No. No. She didn't saw anything...or did she?
I was pacing back and forth in my room. I couldn't think...the only place I could think of is...
The lake!
I quickly grabbed my necklace and ran towards the lake. My parents were at work and my brother was at the after school program. So I was all alone at home.
It was a cloudy and windy day. I could hear their voices through the air...they are calling for me. They miss me. I had tears in my eyes.
My family.
I quickly ran to the bus stop. I had no money on me...but I could fix that...
As I went inside the bus lady said,
"$1.50please." I looked at her and looked into her eyes. Not today...
Her eyes winded when she saw into my eyes. I smirked to myself. This always works for me. She slowly close the bus door and let me inside. There wasn't much people. There was a drunk bum sleeping up in the front and there was a student sitting in the middle listening to music. I went all the way to the back to avoid any humans...because I am not normal...I'm just a simple mermaid living in this cruel world of humans and supernatural creatures. Yes I am a mermaid...and so is my family. We are those beautiful creatures told in many legends and myths. The ones who fishers want to catch to get millions of dollers but...that is never gonna happen.
The only way to contact my family would be to go to a place with water...well not just any place with water...a place like lakes, rivers, or oceans.
7 years seem to be a pretty long time to be away from your family. I was only 5 when he took me....
