butterflies are stupid
& so are you.

blue is a really ugly color
& so are you & butterflies.

i never really liked butterflies
& now they just remind me of you.

it doesn't help,
it makes me hate them even more.

you flew fast like a butterfly
& that was dumb.

i was like a little child, fascinated,
so i chased the butterfly.

chased it right into bed
& did things that i regret.

i wish i could get that back,
but i can't.

so i took that stupid butterfly
& put it in a jar.

after watching it in that jar
for however long.

i took the lid off
& set it free.

but the butterfly came back.
i told it no, leave.

it wouldn't,
so i did.
