An Exasperated Familiar Face

We were dismissed and I followed Hal out of the area I had landed in. When he decided we were far enough away he let out an exasperated sigh, running a green gloved hand through his hair. He looked over at me, shook his head and sighed again. I stood there, awkwardly waiting for him to say something.

"Well I wish I could say congrats Reyna, or even say I'm happy to see you again..." he let out another sigh. "It's just that this is extremely dangerous, and you're...how old are you?"

I stiffened a bit. "Uh- eleven today." He stared at me for a second.

"Please tell me you're kidding, kid" I shook my head and he hung his a bit. "Okay, we have a lot of work to do then..." He stared walking again, and I followed.

Hal introduced the planet as Oa. The home planet and headquarters of the Guardians and Green Lanterns. He showed me around, saying I would get the hang of the seemingly bustling planet soon enough, but to try and say as close to him as possible.

"I don't want to lose you and have to fly around the planet on your first day"

He took me to where I would be staying, which looked a lot like barracks, I met several of my roommates, mainly adults, and I realized that I was most likely the youngest person on Oa. I made me extremely nervous to say the least. Most stared, looked at Hal, then stared at me again, this time with much more expectation in their eyes. Hal ignored them, not giving any thought to their looks of expectations at me. Finally he turned to me, recognizing that I was exhausted, and decided we were done for today. He lead me back to the housing.

"We start your training tomorrow, get some rest, I'll be waiting when you get up." I nodded, signaling that I understood, and he left me to go get some rest.
