I dodged the odd spiked looking bomb thing that Nashira threw at me. It disappeared as soon as it hit the wall behind me but I only saw that out of the corner of my eyes as I conjured a large baseball bat behind her, then swung it at the back of her knees. As she fell down a cheer from the crowd around us arose.
"You got this Reyna!" I heard Hal's voice call amongst the spectators.
"Get up Nashira! Don't lose to an Earthling!" Gun'mar yelled through the crowd.
            "...rude..." I mumbled.
"...yeah that wasn't called for..." Nashira gave me an apologetic expression as Hal called him out for it, Gun'mar grumbled, but said nothing and Nashira and I got back into the sparring session. After a few moments of dodging her obvious attacks, she slams a wall of green against me and sends me flying to the side of the arena. I hit the wall hard, sending a load bang through the area as gasps and hisses sounded through the crowd. I shakily lifted my top half off the ground, supporting myself with shaking arms as blood starts to trickle down my dirt and grime streaked face. There was silence and Nashira takes a slightly victorious stance.
"Give up Reyna?" She asked, her vice almost echoing with the silence surrounding us. I spat out a glob if blood sniffing a bit and I looked up at her, smirking a bit.
"Not a chance." Just as I spoke, I conjured a plane that rammed into her back, disappearing and morphing into a cage when she hit the wall. I stood as she tried her best to break it, but I held it with minimal effort on my part. Nashira groaned.
"How is this so strong?!" I shrugged at her in response. "I give up..." she trailed off a bit miserably. I let the cage disappear as a cheer rushes through the crowd. Hal lands next to me as some blood finds is way into my right eye and I close it quickly to try and stop it. Hal examines my wounds quickly, humming a bit as he tilts my head slightly. I wait a bit nervously for him to say something. He smiles a bit.
"You did good kid, let's get you cleaned up."
After the blood and grime is cleaned up, one of the other Lanterns found us, telling us that the Six wanted to see us.
When we landed in what I started to call the Rock Pillar Arena and Hal immediately asked them why we were here.
"Reyna Sanchez's progress has been great, she's done well under your guidance Hal Jordan" the one in the middle spoke to us.
"Are you sure she's ready for this?" The one on the far right interrupted.
"She has shown more progress than any other lantern she's faced, she's far stronger than before. She is ready." The one on the far left stated.
"You have right to worry friend, but I believe she is ready as well" the one in the middle right spoke with a clear voice.
"Silence, please. It has been decided." The one in the middle spoke once again.
"Ready for what?" I wondered aloud before I could stop myself. "Sorry, I didn't mean to speak out of turn-" The one on the the far right chuckled.
"It is alright, it is natural for you to wonder what we are speaking about concerning you whist in front of you."
"We speak of your first sector assignment, Reyna Sanchez." The fat left spoke.
"And what better planet to be assigned to with your mentor than earth." The middle finished. I felt my chest tighten.
              "...Earth?" I almost squeaked out.
"Yes, your home planet...is there something wrong with that?" The middle inquired.
"No! No, it's just...I didn't expect being sent out so early, let alone back to my home planet...thank you!" Reyna responded almost too quickly, Hal looked to her worriedly.
"Good, you both leave tomorrow, you are dismissed."
