Nerves and Doubts

"So I'll be arriving tomorrow with...my protégée Reyna." Hal said to his friends through some kind of communicator.
"Alright Hal, we copy." A man with a somewhat cheery voice said.
"Thanks Supes, see you then" Hal responded.
"Hal. Should I call Nightwing and the Titan's to inform them about your protégée?" A man's voice came through. It was dark and a tiny bit grovely. Hal looked over to me and I pretended like I wasn't listening.
"...yeah, why not, it'll be good to be around some kids her age. Thanks Bats"
"Not a problem, see you tomorrow then. Watch Tower out." And with that the communication ended and Hal turned to me. "Alright kid, we should get moving, you ready?"
I looked up and nodded slowly. Hal raised and eyebrow.
"You okay Reyna? You seem nervous."
"It's just-...I'm not sure I want to go back to earth is all, I know I have to, the Guardians said so but-...I don't know...Earth is only bad memories to me..." I sighed, looking down at the dusty green ground from where I sat on a rock. Hal sighed and kneeled down in front of me.
"I know you're nervous, but trust me, you'll be fine, you'll have me there with you...and it's never too late to make some good memories Reyna." He smiled at me as I looked up.
"You think so?"
"I know so." I couldn't help but smile a bit and hug him. Hal Hughes back happily.
"Thanks Hal..." Hal chuckled a bit.
"No problem kiddo..." he pulled away. "Now, we should get going so we'll be there by tomorrow." I nodded and got up, then, Hal and I shot into space with each other.

"So who are the Titans?" I asked as we flew past planets.
"The Teen Titans, they're a team of teenage superheroes, kinda like a mini Justice League. Except no Green Lantern, yet." Hal smirked as I looked at him.
"What do you mean yet?" I asked. He just grinned, and I realized. "Wait- for real?"
"Yup, Bats just told me they'd be happy to have you on the team, plus you get to live in a sweet tower with them, it'll be great for you to make some friends your age there!" Hal looked at me with his grin, then it faded a bit as he saw my anxious look. "Hey, come on what's up?"
"What if-...what if they think I'm weird? Or crazy! What if they hate me. What if I'm not good enough-" I started to ramble.
"Woah hey- hey slow down Reyna! You're getting head of yourself, you're not even on earth yet!"
"But I'm not good enough-"
"Yes you are Reyna. The Guardians wouldn't have sent you out if they didn't think you were ready. And they'll love you, I know they will."
"But I've been out in space for a year, maybe more! What'll they think?" Hal laughs a bit.
"It'll be nothing new to them, their team is lead by an alien. You'll be fine Reyna I promise, just give it a chance." I looked down for a bit, then took a deep breath.
"Okay..." Hal smiled.
"That's my girl, now come on, we're almost to the Milky Way." And with that we flew off to Earth.
