Chapter 2

*Present day

Today is the 16th of April 2013, also it's the 13th anniversary of the accident. I can't believe that it has been 13 years ago today that I got hit by a car, and lost use of my lower half.

I still remember how I felt when I heard the horrible news that I won't be able to do so many things again. Like walk around, have normal showers, hang out with friends, the list goes on.

All people did was look at me with pitty, they still kinda do they probably think "oh that must suck, being a 20 something stuck in a chair for the rest of her life".

You see after the accident, most of my friends slowly started to ditch me because of the chair. The only one who actually stuck around was Sean, he was honestly my rock, the greatest friend I could ever ask for. But in 2011 he moved to New York, we stay in touch a bit but not as much as we used to.

I slowly wake up to the sound of a busling city outside my window. And suddenly my phone started to ring on my bedside table. I rub my eyes and answer it.

"Hello, Jade speaking" I say as I put on my glasses, "hello is this Miss Jackson?" A female voice on the other end asks.

"Yes it is,who's speaking?" I ask while putting on my glasses. "This is Maria hill from shield, I'm calling to offer you a position." I can't believe what I'm hearing, "why are you offering it to me?"

"You were recommended to us by one of our agents, Sean Richardson" she replies. I don't believe it sean my best friend,basically got me my dream job. "I'm so honored, when would I be starting?" I ask.

"Whenever you'd like, we can send a jet to the airport to pick you up if you'd like" Maria says "yes, that would be great,I'm guessing you are aware of my.." "yes we know all about you disability" she cut me off.

"You didn't answer my question properly before,why choose me?" I ask "well your computer skills are close to stark level, Sean listed a lot here" I hear flipping paper.

"I would love to work for shield, how soon do I need to be there to start next monday?" Because it was Tuesday here it'll be the 15th for them.

"I'll send a jet on Saturday so you can be here Sunday" Maria says. "I will notify you when the jet will arrive goodbye" with that she hangs up.

I fall back into my bed, I still have to get my head around...working for shield. I hope that I will see Sean so I can thank him for getting me the job.

I hope I can find some new friends aswell....
