CHAPTER NINE

Ariana had her earphones plugged on while she was listening to music, skating on the sidewalk of her neighborhood.

Until she head a familiar voice.

"Hey Ariana, wait up" 

She could recognise that voice anywhere, so she tried to go faster. Little did she know Asher had a skateboard with him too. He skated behind him and surprisingly he caught up. He hopped off his skateboard once he was behind her then sprinted in front of her.

"Wow, you seem to be quiet fast then back to when we were younger" He sounded impressed. "No shit sherlock". Asher finally caught up with her. "How come I never knew?".

"Because you were too busy fucking around with girls being a jerk". The corners of Asher's lips curved into a smirk "you can't blame me, I get all the girls". "Wow, you're cocky, now if you will excuse me I have to get going".

Ariana attempted to skate away from him but he caught her before she could, "I can come with you" he suggested. "I'd rather not".

"Please please please Ariana, please" he begged "ugh, fine". Asher yelled a yes then the two continued to skate through the neighborhood.

It was quite until Ariana broke the silence "since when are you up so early?" "I'm always up this early". "As if". 

She gave him a look and told him to tell her the truth.

"Fine, it was because I saw you skating and I'd thought I'd join for good old sake" "huh?" Ariana was shook. 

...

"See, since we're hanging all the guys are checking you out already"

She turned her head to the direction Asher had been facing and saw a bunch of guys looking at her.

She scoffed "fuck off Asher, I'm not like the other girls that you've fucked around with". She grabbed her skateboard off the concrete then walked off a little further so there was a distance between the two.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that" he ran up to her then walked beside her. "No I'm sorry, I'm just not used to us being this close" She sighed. 

Curious, Asher asked "what do you mean?", "we haven't had a conversation like this in a long time."

As he was about to say something Asher's friend pulled up in a car with loud music

"Oh, that's my cue, I got to go. Bye Ari" 

"Bye Asher".

He got in the car then rolled the windows down "Hey cutie how bout' dinner reservation at 8? I'm not taking no for an answer Ariana"

She thought about it for a while then gave in

"Fine, why not."

"See you at 8 Ari".

Then they drove off.

Ariana continued to skate down the pathway of her neighborhood until she received a notification.

'DANIEL'

DANIEL:

who was the guy you were just talking to?

ARI <3:

huh?

DANIEL:

The guy with the blonde hair

ARI <3:

Wait? Can you see me? but you live in America and I'm from Australia

DANIEL:

Look behind you

She turned around then saw Daniel with roses and a packet of chocolate, and there was a note attached to it.

She stared at the blue-eyed boy for a while then pinched herself to see if she was actually seeing things. 

Once. Twice. But she still saw him.

"OH MY GOODNESS, HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE" She yelled

Ariana ran and hugged Daniel. 

"Wow, you're even more beautiful in person" He complimented. "Not so bad yourself Seavey".

While they were hugging, someone tapped Ariana on the back.

She let go of Daniel then asked "wait who was that?"

"Wow you don't remember me?" Gabriela asked as she popped behind Daniel.

"NO WAY GABBIE YOUR HERE!" Ariana ran towards her and hugged her.

"This is my boyfriend Jack, Jack this is my beautiful cousin Ariana"

A curly haired boy appeared out of not where then hugged her.

"Well, its finally nice to meet you".
