Felicity's POV

I gripped onto my handmade model of the Eiffel Tower on my way to class, my heart glowing with pride. I was extremely proud of the two and a half hours I put into this project. I was making space for it in my locker when I heard an annoying voice.

"Why, look who it is." Said the voice. When would Kristen ever learn to leave me alone?!

"Shut up and get lost, Kristen." I said, simply.

"Poor girl can't face me because I'm too good for her. Intimidated much?" She teased.

I shoved my handmade model into the locker roughly. "Would you just shut up and leave me alone?! I don't need your snobbish attitude around me right now, okay?" I yelled, my good mood now spoiled.

"Whta's wrong, hun? Are you jealous that I'm a thousand times better than you? Is it because I'm like a majestic peacock while you look like a filthy rat that just came out of the sewer?" She said with an evil grin and a malicious glimmer in her bright blue eyes.

I felt like slapping her stupid doll-like face. Honestly, there is absolutely zero kindness in her. How do her parents even live with a girl like that?

"You'd better watch what you say, Kristen. I'm warning you." I said, struggling to keep the anger out of my voice.

"I'm warning you." Kristen said in a mocking tone. "Please. My parents are one of the most important people in the country. Do you really think I'm afraid of you? I can sue you if you dare to even lay a hand on me."

I breathed in heavily, desperately trying to calm down. "I'm done with you, Kristen. Your entire life is dedicated to looking pretty, keeping up with trends and looking down on everybody who crosses your path if they're not up to your standards. I can't understand why. I wonder how much sense you even have in that thick, empty skull of yours. Because for all I know, it's filled with nothing but nonsense."

I stormed off, ignoring the insults hurled at me by her followers. Kristen deserves a good scolding. Something to show her that life isn't a flowery, summer meadow and not everyone is her slave.

"Fe, there you are!" I heard a voice call. It was a different one this time. One that doesn't belong to a hateful Kristen worshipper.

"Chloe!" I greeted back. "We'd better get working on that speech right now. The sooner we get it done, the better." She said.

I nodded my head as we made our way to the library. It was quiet and perfect for inspiration to strike. Chloe and I sat side by side as we worked on the speech that would hopefully change the minds of the stereotypical  ninth graders of Evermore High. The bell rang for recess. On my way to the cafeteria, I heard someone call my name.

When I saw that it was Ryan, I smiled widely like a Cheshire cat. "Hey, Ryan. What's up?" I said, trying to mantain my cool.

He smiled. "Nothing much." He shoved his hands into his pockets and looked down at the floor rather shyly. "I was meaning to ask you if-" He paused.

"If....? I asked, encouraging him to continue.

"If you would like go to bowling and the football match between the Raging Rubies and the White Tigers with me today after school." He said, rushing his words out. I felt my heart pound wildly in my chest and my cheeks turned a bright shade of right.

"Yes. Yes, I'll go with you." I said casually but inside of me, I was screaming like an idiot.

He flashed me a gorgeous smile. "Cool. See you later." He said as he turned to walk off with his friends.
