The grand hall was empty. Eerily empty. Not even a stray mouse skittered about, making scraping noises against the floor. Dead silence.
There are beautiful window paintings, depicting the achievements of six creatures, most of them including the fall of an evil villain, while a few support the rise of one. The floor is all tiled marble, save for the lining in between each tile, which is gold. The support pillars spot a smooth quartz, with deep ridges and bumps, like a normal support pillar. The top and bottom of each pillar is lined with 24k gold, shimmering when the sun rises. The ceiling is the best part, as a beautiful celestial being looks down at you when you walk in, with the illusion that its always watching you. Surrounding the being are creatures made of light, bearing an item each with a different shape.
But something is missing. It always is. There are two celestial beings, but only one is showed.
Why is that?
The other, as-beautiful being comes in, sporting an armor as black as the night, with a crescent moon on the front. The mane on the being shimmers like the night sky, with speckled stars. Wings flap a few times, then close, and a small glimmer of dark bright comes from a horn. The hooved creature, with a clip-clop clip-clop, makes its way to the middle of the room, looking at a big, empty, sun-themed chair. With grace and beauty, the creature spoke. "Where art thou, sister?" She called out, her voice ringing around the room. "We would like to talk to thee."
A bright flash engulfs the room, reflecting light off of the gold and marble, blinding any beast stupid enough to place their eyes on it. When the light fades, where it started now stands a creature twice as tall as the first one, with a mane that glowed without light. Its a white creature, dawning a set of bright yellow armor, with an image of the sun on the chest plate. The creature glares at her dark sister of the night. "Yes, Luna?"
Luna takes a few steps closer. "We demand a place up there, on the engraving." The night creature nodded up to the ceiling, with the celestial being and the six others of light. "You seven are not the only ones to have saved the world, sister. We were there as well, along with countless others. Why do you get all the glory?"
Long ago, there was a war between three factions, tearing the foundations of the world to pieces.
The Unicorns, with magic and unity, one of these creatures alone were helpless against an onslaught, but in bigger numbers, unstoppable.
The Pegasi, with flight and loyalty. Each of these creatures dawned an emblem of hope and security, with the promise of a better future.
And the Earth Ponies. Each one with the strength to buck a tree out of the ground and into a building. These creatures are honest and can party hard when it counts.
Each faction was joined by a species of mythology. The Unicorns joined with the Changelings. Princess Chrysalis swore to protect the creatures who saved them, so she decided to join with the Unicorns, at an attempt to keep peace. But this didnt come easily.
The Pegasi were joined by the dragons. Lord Torch, leader of the species after his father gave up his place, thought to himself that what the Pegasi seek is what the world needs; Loyalty and kindness.
Finally, last to be joined, the Earth Ponies obtained the trust of the humans. With the honesty and humanity that both species shared, they made a great duo. The Empress of the species, Megan, wanted peace with every being on the planet.
Battle after battle, each side lost many soldiers. The war crippled the Changelings, turning them black with lust and the desire to be loved. Dragons were dropping from the sky one by one each day from arrows dipped in dragon poison.
Humans got it the worst, though. All of them were killed, save for only two. These two humans are banished to another world entirely, along with many Earth Ponies.
The white creature steps down from the steps leading up to the throne, and heads toward her sister. "What did you do, exactly?"
Anger roared through Luna's voice as she spoke calmly. "We banished the Changelings back to their kingdom with the love curse. We pushed the dragons all the way back to their volcano and put a force field around it for a thousand years. And we forced all Earth Ponies not loyal to us through the portal to Earth, along with the two humans still alive!"
"And you think you deserve praise for something that ANYPONY could do?" The bigger creature stepped even closer, getting in her sisters face.
Luna feinted back, looking down. "Why do you hate me so much, Celestia?"
Celestia looked taken aback, and wraps her sister in an embrace. I am sorry, Luna. A few tears trickle down her muzzle. "I-I didnt mean to say that..."
The younger sister smiled when her sister couldnt see her. "Oh, it is quite alright." Her horn produces another glimmer of dark blue, and a cracking sound could be heard, followed almost instantaneously with a heart-stopped squelch. Celestia's wings fell to the floor, and her eyes stared at her sisters lunatic smirk. "We thought you were the ruler of our new land. But as it seems, you still need more education." The spike that had impaled Celestia from the ground was sucked back down, and the mighty beast fell to the floor with a loud thud.
Blood ran from the wound, draining Celestia quickly. "S-sister...why..?"
The younger of the two smiled and ran her hoof through Celestia's mane. "You weren't always this way, Tia." She said, her grin growing bigger. "You weren't always so human."
