About ten minutes into the movie the doorbell rang. Finley stood up and headed towards the door. I watched as he clumsily tripped over his own feet while reaching for the door handle. I giggled slightly as he whirled around shooting me a goofy grin plastered on his face.
I heard muffled speaking and then the door close, before the irresistible smell of pizza filled my nostrils.
I sat up and waited patiently for him to come in with the pizza. He walked in the kitchen grabbing some water and napkins with his free left hand.
"Here's your water, love," he said handing me the bottle. He sat the pizza box and bread sticks onto the coffee table. I reached out and flipped open the box and got myself a slice and sat back to eat.
"Where is Prince?" I asked curiously, just now realizing I hadn't seen him yet.
"Probably passed out in the other room. I took him to the park for a couple of hours while you were at work."
I nodded in response. "Do you ever do anything else besides hang with your dog?"
"I hang out with you," he smiled poking me in the side, making me giggle.
"Well yeah, but what else do you do besides that?"
His gaze dropped from me to the floor. "Nothing I suppose. You've tak--," he coughed. "Let's watch the movie, eh?"
I decided not to push on what he was about to say. I wiped my hands on my napkin, and relaxed back into the side of his side. I hardly focused on the movie though, because all I could think about was, what did he almost say?

I don't remember falling asleep. I woke up to the slight beams of light coming through the curtains. I looked at the alarm clock on the side and saw it read 8:42. I yawned and saw Prince fast asleep on his bed in the corner of the room.
That's when I felt it.
Two arms were securely wrapped around my waist pulling me close to his chest. I felt his soft breathing on the back of my neck. I carefully turned around to be faced with an adorable sleeping Finley.
His lips were parted ever so slightly, his curls had fallen over his forehead, and his eyelashes were fluttered across his cheeks. He looked so much younger when sleeping. It was adorable.
I decided to get out of the bed, and use the restroom. I slowly started pulling myself out from his secure, yet gentle grasp. As soon as I was almost free, I felt my body get pulled back to his.
"Please don't leave," he mumbled. His morning voice was so raspy, and I tried my best not to gasp.
"I need to use the restroom, Fin. When I come back I expect an explanation," I replied softly.
"Explanation? About what?" he asked, truly sounding confused.
"Well for starters, it's 8:45 in the morning and I just woke up in your bed. I don't remember falling asleep. Now can you please let me go?"
"Fine," he grumbled.
When I came back from using the bathroom, Finley was now sitting on his bed, his back pushed up against the wall, and Prince laying with his head on Fin's lap. It was an adorable sight, just like him being asleep.
He patted the small spot beside him, and I commanded his small gesture.
He reached his arm out and pulled me into his side. "I noticed you had fallen asleep on my shoulder when you weren't crying when I was," he said chuckling. "You looked so peaceful and it was dark out. I didn't want to wake you up, and I figured trying to walk you home after you've just woken up, would be difficult anyways. So I turned off the movie and carried you into here. Sorry if you're upset, I, I uh, I just didn't want to wake you up."
