Chapter 1 : Letter from 30 years

The time was 5 pm, on February 9, 1960

The street was full of houses that were built, but this street is very quiet, nothing but only cricket sound echoes everywhere between Winter and Spring.

On that street is a calm street than other streets in town in California.

One of the houses of that street was different than others, it was full-colored like orange as sunset, other houses are grey as smoke.

Because that's a full-colored house, there was a 50-year-old man who was an animator.

Even though he doesn't work at ''Joey Drew Studios'' anymore, he was still working on animations.

His animation was perfect, he works with his desk to do some animations, not only that.

He does some own characters, even he made 3 main characters for ''Joey Drew Studios''

because he was friends with that studio owner Joey Drew 30 years ago.

These both haven't seen each other, they were been apart for 30 years.

The man who left that studio was Henry.

He was 20 years old when he started working (and also left there when he was 22 years old?),

same age as Joey Drew, these both were best friends at that time, now it's unknown.

Henry was living in a full-colored house, he liked the orange color because it makes him warm.

He wasn't alone in the house, but he had wife and niece with him, he took his niece to his own after her mother died in a car accident 10 years ago, his niece was 8 years old when she lost her mother, her father died in the war before she was born in 1952.

She's almost 18 years old, her birthday will be after 2 days.

Henry and his sister named her ''Michelle'', that name means ''Feminine of Michael: Gift from God''

His wife is Linda. He married her years ago. She was 44 years old, she wasn't healthy.

She had heart cancer, she was a calm person because of her cancer.

Getting heart-attack, can make her sick; plus, if she doesn't relax, it can kill her.

She wasn't alone while doing some activities like cooking, cleaning, anything.

Because her partners are Henry and Michelle.

At home, Linda cooks some meals while Michelle cleans all rooms, Henry doing some laundry.

Outside, Michelle and Linda do shopping while Henry watering all plants in their garden.

Henry worries her when she being alone, he never leaves her behind, he's such a gentleman 

for Linda.

Michelle does do the same as Henry, she loves Linda as her mother.

Because she was a kind, determined, beautiful woman.

She was lovable to Michelle and Henry.

She had purple-ish red, short length hair. She had grey eyes as cloudy weather we know, had pink as flower lips and her face was pure as herself. Her body never was over-weight but slim, hers look young lady (she is) that never aged. Her clothes were the style of the 30s or 50s since she doesn't like 60s fashion. Her favorite color is orange as sunset just like their house.

Michelle was as beautiful as her mother. Henry had a beautiful young sister, so he had a beautiful niece. Her hair is hazelnut colored, long hair ends on her back of the torso. Her eyes are light brown, her lips were pink as sakura petals in Japan. Her forehead has bangs, not full. She doesn't like 60s fashion as Linda does, she prefers 30s, also black and white clothes. Sometimes she wants to wear Henry's clothes. She always wondered why some girls don't like pants, 

for her ;

Pants are better than skirts or dresses. She even asks Henry for permission. He giggles and asks;

''Aren't they gonna be big for you?''.

''But I want those clothes so hard,'' said Michelle.

Henry makes a plan for her present for her future birthday. He needs to ask his old pal, Roger.

He is a fashioner. He makes some new fashion for each person they came to him.

Henry went to see Roger for some favor, he asked him to create fashion clothes for his niece.

Roger accepted with no doubt, this would be the best present for her.

It was done in days, the perfect outfit for her.

It has long sleeves sweater with cream color, has a dusty-chatain colored coat, grey pants with overhalls, and has a black bow on her sweater.

She would be a favorite outfit of all time.

On her birthday at home, there were only 3 people; ''Henry, Linda, and Michelle''

Henry was the first person to give a gift when Michelle opened her gift, her gaze was surprised.                She has seen the clothes just like she wanted, she gave a big hug to her uncle for a gift.

Then Linda turned to give a gift, there were all brushes, black ink, and paper for artist inbox.         She was very happy when she saw, she gave a kiss on her aunt's cheek for a gift.

She loves drawing, also wanted to work on animations as Henry does.

She was adored his works since 5 years old, she kept herself drawing everything, she was talented.

And even she asks him about his past, but he had a very dark secret about his job.

He wasn't telling those to her, about why he left ''Joey Drew Studios'' for some reasons, what happened there then. He doesn't want to scare her and her dream-job. He tells her anything like people he met, cartoon, characters, his pal. Michelle wanted him to take her that studio to take a look. At 11. pm, they heard a knocking sound from the door.

''Who is that person doing here on this hour?'' asked Michelle.

''I'll check,'' said Henry gets up from the chair.

He went toward the door, checked the hole on the door.

He felt something under his foot, he looked down.

It was a letter, was yellow-orange colored paper. It was written on it and it says :

''Dear Henry,

It seems like a lifetime since we worked on cartoons together.

30 years really slips away, doesn't it?

If you're back in town, come visit the old workshop.

There's something I need to show you. 

                                                                                Your best pal, Joey Drew''
