Chapter 4

"Zoey? Zoey!" it was Victoria's voice, but it sounded like it was faded. I could finally see her face. "Oh my gosh, you're ok! Don't do that ever again!" Victoria said hitting me playfully.

"What happened?" I said trying to get up. I was lying on this chair that you normally see in a dentist office. Ryan walked in the room.

"Oh good, you're awake." He said in a whisper.

"Why are you whispering?" I said whispering back.

"They found us."

"They? Who's 'they'?"

"Who else do you think Zoey?" Victoria whispered. I finally got the hint and knew who was out there. It was government officials.

"That's why you fainted. There were so many people here that you heard all of their voices in their heads. You weren't ready for that much pressure." Ryan said.

"Thanks Ryan, but I'm fine now. Let me go out there and do something to help." I said sitting up.

"No way! You don't even know how to control your powers yet." I walked up to Ryan and grabbed his hand. I was looking into his eyes. When I grabbed his hand and looked into his eyes I saw Victoria's face turn red.

"Please, let me help. You need to come too. I need you by my side, fighting by my side." I said to Ryan with a face of sympathy. I gave him a face of sympathy because when I touched his hand I looked inside him and saw his devastating past. I could never know what it's like to go through what he went through. Ryan pulled me towards him and gave me a hug. I saw Victoria again, but it seemed like she understood what was going on.

"Ok. I'll be by your side." He said while hugging me.

"Let's go. Victoria I'm sorry, but stay down here." I said.

"What? No way!" Victoria said while walking towards us. Ryan stopped her by making a vine put her in the chair and tied her up. I was wondering where to go because I was blacked out when they moved me here. Apparently we were underground.

I started complaining to Ryan saying,"Why didn't we just stay down here?" He just totally ignored me. We walked up these steps and then we were in the middle of a four way. There was three tunnels we can go through. I just followed Ryan all the way. When we finally made it to ground level we started to climb up this rope. It led us to a small, rusty, old steel bridge.

"Now we can see everything." Ryan said motioning his hands towards the whole floor.

"Ok, now what?"

"Well, let's see how many people are here" we started looking everywhere and we knew there was a bunch of people here. Some of the people were inspecting our stuff. I saw one guy going through my most personnel stuff.

"Hey." I said while using my telekinesis to push him away from my stuff. Unfortunately, I still don't know how to control my powers so when I pushed him he smashed into the wall. I slowly turned my head to Ryan. He was already looking at me with a face of disappointment. "Oops." I said.

"Oops isn't gonna cut it. Now everyone is alerted."

I looked down, they all had their guns up and telling each other,"Specials! Be alert soldiers!"

"Well, it could be worst." I said.

"How could it be any worse then getting killed?" I just stood there in silence. "Exactly my point."

"What are we supposed to do anyways? Scare them off." I said.

"You know what? That's not a bad idea." Ryan responded.

"Wait, what? I was just joking."

"Well, it was a very good joke."

"These are government officials. There practically trained to not be scared of anything."

"Except for the specials." It was silent for a few seconds.

"All right. Fine." I said looking down.

"That's the spirit!" Ryan said before kissing me on the cheek. He put his hands on the railing and looked down.

"I'm guessing that this is gonna be the most fun you've had in ages." I said.

"Maybe." Ryan said. I laughed quietly while pointing at him.

A/N

First I wanna say that Zoey and Ryan are not going to get together. He was just so excited that he just kissed her on the cheek. No emotional connection.
