A/N: Hi! This is my first ever fanfic! :O So I apologise if it's not the best, but the only way is up I guess! Also, I know it won't make much sense to begin with, but trust me when I say that all will be clear as the story progresses!

I groaned as I came to my senses. Every bone in my body ached like crazy, my head was throbbing, and my ears were ringing intensely, blocking out any sound from around me. Silence. Eerie, painful silence. I felt as if I was dying-I probably was. I wanted to die. Right there, right then. But any suicidal thoughts that were whirling around in my head were interrupted by someone shaking my arm, triggering an unbearable pain in my elbow.
"G-Get off me!" I spluttered, jerking my eyes open to see a young man with a concerned expression painted on his face. He seemed a bit older than me, and had blackish-grey hair along with the most charming, soft brown eyes. I could see him talking, but not a sound seemed to escape his mouth. I sat up and tilted my head in confusion-or at least tried to. Instead, I fell backwards, knocking my head against a tree.
"Ow! H-Help me! Please...help me.." I yelped. And that was the last thing I knew of before I returned to the dark emptiness of unconsciousness.

When I next awoke, I was in a warm house. It was small, but cosy and very welcoming. "Hello Miss," a boy about my age smiled. I liked his smile. It was just so, genuine. He had beautiful silver hair, along with the kindest, yet most mysterious amethyst eyes. As if they kept hold of the deepest secrets. And his voice was soft and concerned. For a moment I believed that he actually cared; but then I remembered. No-one does. And they never will do. It's just the way it is.
"Um, hello there. Do you think you could tell me where I am?" I replied.
" You passed out. And Shigure wasn't sure what to do, so he brought you back to our house. I hope you don't mind, Miss." He replied quietly; a slight look of guilt on his face.
"No, I don't mind. Not at all. In fact, I'd like to thank you for taking care of me." I started with a nod. "Anything could've happened to me if this 'Shigure' just left me there."
He hesitated before turning to me. "Miss. Shigure didn't, do anything to you, did he?"
I laughed to hide my blush. "Nope. Why? Is he well known for being a perv?" I smirked, thinking of his comment as a joke.
"Actually, yes." Kind Eyes replied simply. I scanned his face for any sign of this being a prank; but his expression was serious. Dead serious. Well that wiped the smirk right off my face.
"Are you sure that he's not just misunderstood?" I asked, curious of what he thought.
"That I'm certain of." I could tell that the topic was annoying him, so I decided to change it.
"So, what's your name?" I asked innocently, as if the whole conversation had just started.
"I'm Yuki. Yuki Sohma. Why do you ask, miss?" Sohma. Why did that name ring a bell? Was I meant to remember something? I don't know, but I had a feeling that I knew him from somewhere. I eyed him curiously, and the more I looked, the more I felt that I unfinished business.
"No reason." I replied simply, and sat against the wall, examining a set of figures on the windowsill. The animals of the Chinese zodiac. They seemed familiar too, I felt oddly protective of them for some reason, and I was beginning to think that my time here wasn't going to be just a visit...

A/N: So yeah! What do you think? Tell me in the comments. Constructive criticism please! And like I said, Although it's pretty confusing -and I can't stress this enough- I promise it'll make more sense as the story goes on!
Thanks!
