We finally arrived in Hokkaido everyone still bewildered by the mystifying Shawn Frost. Of course I, being the boring person I am didn't seem to be too fazed by it. According to the coach the team was called Alpine junior and this so called ace player was the key to defeating Alieus Academy.
We quickly got ourselves off the bus only to be faced by a frosty Alpine junior high. Everyone suddenly began chatting about the freezing weather as we made our way towards the school.
We were greeted by a little girl who led us to where the rest of her team was meeting us. Silence spread amongst our team as we were anxious to meet the new addition to our team.
"Welcome to Alpine junior high" greeted a blue haired boy, smiling with excitement. Mark politely greeted them back when all of a sudden I was surrounded by three member of their team.
"We're such big fans of you!"
"I can't believe Raimon is here in Hokkaido!"
"Can I have an autograph?"Clearly everyone was overwhelmed by all the attention Raimon was receiving though this didn't seem to faze me.
"Excuse me but do you happen to know where the forward of your team happens to be?" The team apologized for their rude actions and told us that he was skating, skiing or snowboarding.
"What an all-round sportsman" sighed a confused Nathan. The little girl that greeted us then ran off to see whether he was coming. We all stood there awkwardly anticipating the player to arrive.
"He's coming guys!" yelled the same girl, our eyes fixed toward the door awaiting his presence.
"Oh you guys again, long time no see!"
.
.
.
"HUH?!"
"YOURE THE BEAR KID, WHAT ARE YOU DONG HERE?!" I yelled in confusement. Suddenly my head began throbbing in pain.
"WHO DID THAT?!" I bellowed only to be faced by a frustrated Nathan. I muttered a sorry when all of a sudden Shawn began laughing though this only seemed anger me. I took a deep breath and ran outside not knowing that I was being followed by a worried Nathan.
"IT'S NOT FAIR!" I shouted, furiously kicking the nearby tree. Light footsteps began to make its way towards me. "Hey Nathan" I said flatly.
"Why do you hate him so much?" the question continuously ran in my mind. Do I hate him? Not really.
"Serena" I don't really hate him he just... well pisses me off.
"Hey, are you listening Serena?" He thinks he has the balls to just walk in there and smile like nothing big just happened.
"SERENA!!" I turned myself around only to be faced by a crying Nathan.
"I don't know what's gotten into you lately but it needs to stop, you're affecting the team and we already have enough to worry about." Whispered Nathan
"But, I-"
"THE WORLD DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND YOY SERENA, YOU NEED TO OPEN YOUR EYES AND TAKE THINGS SERIOUSLY FOR ONCE!" Nathan began to walk away yet there was hint of regret in his eyes.
I don't know what just happen but I do know it was my entire fault. I placed my hand against my heart. Why does it always beat when I see him?
Shortly after I thought about what Nathan had said I headed back inside. I suddenly came to halt when I heard something that caught my attention. "So Shawn, we would like a practice match to evaluate your skills, if that's ok with you".
I hid behind the igloo awaiting Shawn's answer. "I'm sorry but I can't. If I went with Raimon then I'd just feel like I'm betraying my team."
I walked inside, confidence building inside of me.
"Shawn, we want you to join Raimon"
"Like I already sai-"
"If you join Raimon, you wouldn't be betraying your team rather you'd be saving them as well as protecting them. Isn't that what you want?"
"Well yeah, of course"
"Then I don't see the problem in having a practice game against us" I stared at Shawn desperately awaiting an answer, Shawn turned to face the couch.
"Our team would gladly have a match against Raimon."
I smiled with delight thanking Shawn. Coach stood up and declared that we began the match straight away.
Raimon as well as Alpine junior high began to make their way outside preparing for a heated match.
"We don't know what Shawn is capable off so I think it would be best if we put Serena on defense, coach is that ok with you?" asked Mark who only received a 'I don't care what you do look' form Coach.
"Then its decided Serena you'll start off in defense" I nodded ready to win this match with ease.
The Coach blew the whistle.
"I'm all fired up now!"
