Night Creatures
Light fades with the setting sun,
Night creatures leave their crypts.
Glowing eyes and fearsome claws
Blood dripping from the tips.
.
Heroes come and cowards flee,
Their brave or brainless prey,
With gleaming swords and wooden spikes
They come to save the day.
.
Crosses hold no fear for them,
Religion but a human crutch,
Creatures of the night see fear
In the eyes of those they touch.
.
One valiant, fearless warrior
Stands firm among rest.
A simple wooden weapon
Pierces deep the creature's chest.
.
Screaming fills the dead of night,
As the shadows reclaimed his soul.
The creatures now know fear of man
The wooden stake behold.
