This story starts where any high school romance starts.
The first day of school.
The hottest summer in Rosewood was coming to an end and it was defiantly Spencer Hastings favourite time of year.
She came from a long line of over achievers, she was a perfectionist and if she got anything less than an A she would be in trouble. She worked her fingers to the bone and she barley had time to herself.
"Senior year is finally here!" She cried.
Her cousin, Alison Dilaurentis, stood beside her both of them facing the front of Rosewood high.
"Spence calm down, this place is so boring I'm practically half asleep already."
Hanna Marin, Aria Montgomery and Mona Vanderwaal strode up to Ali and Spencer. Hanna as usual was wearing three inch heels and had a pink pouch bag, that would only fit in the bare essentials and not for school supplies.
Aria was wearing a tight fitted tank top and a skirt made of sewn together ties. Aria had her own original style, her entire wardrobe was homemade.
Mona, who was very much like Hanna, was wearing a tight mini skirt and a low v-neck top and black high heels."Is Hastings a little bit too excited?" Hanna groaned.
"What? This is only our last ever year at high school."
"Well for us maybe but Hanna better pick up the slack otherwise she may be here a while longer."
Hanna playfully hit Aria on the back of her head.
"Well at least I'm here on time for once unlike Emily."
"Speaking of Em, where is she?"
"I'm here!" Emily ran past Naomi and Riley from the year below, her hair was ruffled and she was out of breath.
"Em what happened?" Aria helped Emily with her stuff so she could straighten herself out.
"I over slept because my mom had to leave early for work and she usually wakes me up."
Emily finally sorted herself out and they all linked arms.
"Ready for the best year of our lives girls?"
"It's just senior year Spence."
"Face it Mon, this will be the year we will never forget"
Spencer unhooked her arm and walked as fast as she could, heading for the stairs infront of the school building.
A tall boy around six foot and a newly cut buzz cut accidentally bumped into Spencer knocking her over and spilling her coffee all over his crisp white shirt."I'm so sorry I wasn't looking where I was going." The boy handed Spencer his hand and helped her to her feet.
Spencer brushed her self off and started picking up her books.
"It's fine honestly."
The boy bent down and helped her pick them up, the one book left on the floor was Spencer favourite book.
The wizard of Oz.
It had been her favourite book since she could remember, it was the only thing she had from her birth mother.
Spencer's mom, Veronica had adopted her when she was born because her mother wasn't well.Veronica had told Spencer many stories about her real mother and the fact she'd been adopted had been no secret. Spencer called Veronica mom because that's what she was to her but she always had a special place in her heart for Mary, her biological mother.
