– Yes. – It's Val the one answering. No, I don't want to go. No, I'm not going on tour with them, or am I? To be honest I'm quite feed up with going to the agency so often to see if I got a job.
– Yes?! – I can't quite understand Stevie's emotion. They didn't even see my job. I didn't even answer.
– Yes. But, don't you have to see my job and stuff first?
– Of course, but we're so desperate to find a make up artist fast because we're leaving the day after tomorrow. – The day after tomorrow? In that case I'm not leaving. – Do you have the afternoon free? – I do. But I don't want to. Even though I need to start working. I nod. It's time that I start making my own decisions even though it's Isa the one that made it this time. – Perfect. – What did I do? Okay, I need to stop with the insecurities. – I'm giving you my number, just in case. – He gives me a paper with his phone number and I save it on my purse. – We'll see you this afternoon. – He smiles and start walking away.
The others say goodbye and walk behind Stevie. Val looks at me. She's happy. She knows better than anyone how bad I want to have a job and I'm so mad at myself because of my insecurities I'm wondering if I should go on tour or not.
– You're not sure about your decision, are you?
– My decision? You made it for me!
– But is going to be great! Just wait and see. You'll be traveling, working as a make up artist. Also, you're going to start working. I did you a favor.
– If they choose me.
– They are desperate for one. I'm sure they will choose you. Also, you're a great make up artist. – Now I'm more confident. Isa's right, there's nothing wrong.
After talking it out for a long time we decide to go eat out but Val reminds me that I have to go to the interview later this afternoon, also I have to prepare my works to show them. We go back home, we make a quick lunch and I start packing everything.
– What time is the interview? – Fuck. I didn't even ask. – They didn't tell, did they? – No, they didn't. Val takes the paper out of my purse with Stevie's number and smiles. – You know, you have to call them. – She hands it to me and leaves me alone.
I phone him and sigh, I didn't think I'd be using that paper today.
– Hello?
– Hi Stevie, it's Marchis. I'm calling you because you didn't tell me a time or a place...
– I'm sorry. I totally forgot. When are you free today?
– I don't have anything to do today, so I'm free anytime.
– Okay, we are practicing right now but you can come if you want and we can make the interview right here. Is it okay with you? – I guess...
– Yeah, of course. Give me the address. – He tells me the address and I write on the same paper he gave to me this morning. – See you soon. – I hung up without him saying goodbye. I finish packing my work and put it all by the door. – Val, we're leaving. – Two minutes later she's in my room.
– Am I going too?
– Of course.
– Oh, okay.
– You thought I would be going without you?
– I don't know, it's a job interview.
– But you agreed to it, not me.
We're back in the trolley car, on the way to the place where they are practicing. Val keeps telling me about how awesome the opportunity is. I guess she's alright, or that's what I keep telling myself. After a long period of time on the trolley car we have to walk ten minutes still to get to the place. I would be lying if I say I'm not nervous. We arrive and Isa knocks the door. They open the door shortly after, I think it's Michael the one at the door.
