Chapter 9

We stay in silent, Josh simply nods and I don't know what to say. He's asked me to stop overthinkimg, I know it's what I should do but I'm an overthinker.

– It's time for the soundcheck, Josh – I'm thankful for Mitch because he's broken the awkward silence between us.

– I'll be there now. – Mitch nods and goes back on stage. – I'll see you later.

– I'll be around here.

– Okay, see you. – He turns his back to me and goes to stage.

I can see everyone's ready for soundcheck while Rob is unboxing boxes which I assume is merch. I go help him, it'll help me distract for a bit.

– Need help?

– Yeah, I could get some, yes. Thanks. – He smiles. He opens the boxes and gets it all on the table. I help him with the merch, the money and the other stuff. – The boys are happy to have you here.

– Oh, really?

– Of course. They told me how y'all met. – He laughs.

– It was quite the situation, to be honest. – He laughs again.

– No!

I'm done helping Rob so I say bye to him. Making my way back to the backstage, I make sure everything's okay. I check the hour, it's still pretty early so I go have a walk while I call Val.

– Hi!

– Hello, again, Val. – She smiles. – I'd really like if you could come for a few shows, how does that sound?

– I'd really like that but I don't have enough time...

– I know but you could relax for the weekend, get away for a little while, don't you think?

– Well now you're saying that could really help. When I'm done with exams I'll be on the look to go, I swear.

– Great! I'll leave you now, I gotta work. Talk you later.

– Good luck.

– Thanks, same. – I hang up.

When I hung up I see I've walked for a long while so it'll take me a few minutes to get back. Talking with Val always helps me. It helped me clear my mind and now I'm ready for work. Honestly I really liked the show I went to with Val so I'm excited to see tonight's.

– There you are. – It's Stevie who I first see as I walk in. – We've been looking for you.

– You could've call me?

– We guessed you'd arrive sooner or later. – I don't answer so I go straight to the point.

– So, why were you looking for me?

– We have to do a few shoots for an interview and we needed you for the make up and stuff.

I hate that I haven't been told about it. I hate missing this things, I feel useless.

– So I have work to do and I didn't know about it? You should have called me!

– We were just told about it, it's okay we have time.

–Good. – Not wanting to continue this conversation. – Let's go, make sure to tell them to come.

I'm once again making my way to the backstage to get things ready. I can't believe I was in a walk while I should be working.

“If they didn't call me it's because it wasn't really important.” I say to myself. “ Yes but I should've been working and not walking around.” It's my head saying.
