“@InbornScriptette: I love you guys so much.<3 Thank you for your music. You guys literally saved my life! xx”

Danny O’Donoghue smiled at this fan’s tweet, feeling his chest rise in pride. He knew he would never get tired of reading things like this from their fans. He looked out the tinted window briefly to see that they were still parked at the service station. This had to be the dodgiest station Danny ever had the chance of coming into. The lights above them flickered incessantly and the store looked like it was seconds from caving in on itself. The restroom itself was literally an outhouse from one of those Western movies Danny had watched as a child. He couldn’t wait for everyone to finish their business so they could get the hell out of this place.

On the other side of the window was a field of dried dirt and dead plants without a tree in sight. The service station seemed to be the only sign of civilization for miles. As Danny tried to look further into the darkness, he realized that it was impossible. Anything after 100 yards was engulfed completely in a black abyss. Danny felt like he was staring into the unknown and as every second came and left, it was creeping closer and closer towards them. Shit, they seriously needed to get out of here.

Danny tried to break eye contact from the darkness, but he felt that he couldn’t. He was trapped. He literally couldn’t move. His eyes strained when he thought he saw movement flash past his eyes. Oh god. What was that? Oh go--

“Danny,” a calming voice met Danny’s ears along with a hand resting gently on his forearm. “Are you okay?”

Danny jumped as his head snapped to the said voice. Automatic relief spread throughout Danny’s body as he physically relaxed. But it wasn’t because of the green eyes that were staring back at him. No it was merely because he could finally look away from the frightening depths on the other side of him. Danny cleared his throat and wrenched his arm away from Evanlyn’s touch and turned his body away from her. Having physical contact her was making his skin crawl.

“Don’t touch me,” he spat out through a clenched jaw.

Flynn, feeling like his words were like acid to her skin, flinched back and swallowed in attempt to rid herself of that aching feeling in her throat.

“I’m sorry,” she mumbled, making sure to put a good amount of space between their legs. “I just…”

“You what?” Danny refused to even look at her.

Ev brushed a strand of hair behind her ear anxiously. “I needed to talk to you guys about your schedule for tomorrow.”

Danny’s dark eyes glanced around the vehicle to see that their driver, Mark, Glen, and a number of their camera crew was present and had the misfortune of watching their exchange. However, as Ev flushed in embarrassment, Danny couldn’t care less if they had seen how he treated her. He wanted them to know how much he hated her. Hell, he wouldn’t mind spelling it out to the whole world how much he despised Evanlyn Jones.

“Okay,” Kevin, their driver cleared his throat and turned towards the road. “Is everyone ready to go back on the road?”

Kevin started the car and merged onto the freeway before he even got a response. He moved to turn on the radio when Ev stopped him.

“I need to talk about the schedule for tomorrow first if you don’t mind.”

Kevin glanced back at Evanlyn through the rearview mirror with a sympathetic smile. He couldn’t understand how Danny could treat someone as nice as Evanlyn with such insensitivity. He had only known her for a few weeks as they prepared the team for the radio tour, but from out of all the time they spent together, he could tell that Evanlyn was a good person with a big heart. Obviously something happened between those two, but he wasn’t sure if that even sufficed as a good enough reason to treat her in such a way. No man should treat a woman like that. He liked to believe that men nowadays still had some class.
