the next morning i stopped by the gallagher house to pick up emma and take her to the mall to hang out with debbie and a few other friends.
when i got there, i went over to talk to ian since i noticed he had a sad look on his face.
"why so gloom?" i asked him.
"fiona told me that she's not gonna let trevor and i buy the church." ian said.
"what the hell?" i said when i saw lip walk in with a bruised up face.
"what happened to you?" emma asked.
"brad relapsed last night, i've been looking for him all night." lip said walking over to the stairs.
"fuck, are you okay?" fiona asked him.
"i don't know." lip replied as he walked upstairs.
"you should check up on him." ian told me.
"me?" i asked my best friend.
"yeah, he listens to you." ian replied as i nodded and i went upstairs to lips room.
when i walked over to his room, i saw him sitting on his bed and he ran his fingers through his hair.
"hey, you okay?" i asked him which made him look up at me.
"i just... i thought he was gonna stay sober this time." lip said as i sat beside him and i held his hand.
"you'll find him, okay? and when you do, you're gonna get him to go back to the meetings and he'll start over again but it'll be worth it in the long run." i said trying to cheer lip up.
"thank you, mel. if i'm being honest, i don't know what i'd do without you." lip admitted which caused a smile to grow on my face.
i rested my head on his shoulder and i felt him put his arms around me and he caresses the side of my arm.
"i've gotta head over to patsys but do you think you'll be okay?" i asked him.
"yeah, i'll be fine." lip replied as i lifted my head off his shoulder and i stood up.
"get some rest, okay?" i told him as he nodded.
"hey, mel." lip said before i walked out of his room.
