Lance POV

They're hiding something. I can feel it.

Having siblings of older and younger ages, I can tell when someone is hiding something.

Every time I walk into a room, everyone's chatter dies out quickly.

Every time I walk into a room, they hide papers and other stuff.

I watched from afar one time, as everyone was having a good time. They were planning something. And they were doing it without me. I walked into the room that they were in, the lounge, and they all shut up. They hid the stuff they were working on. I had turned my head to the side, my hand gripping my other arm tightly.

"Whatcha guys doing?" I had asked.

"Nothing," was all I got in return.

Were they gonna kick me off of the team?

No they wouldn't.

Would they?

Honestly I didn't know what was gonna happen.

I slowly became detached from the rest of the team. Farther and farther I felt like I was falling.

Right now, I'm sitting on my bed. I'm fiddling with my fingers, bored out of my mind.

"Paladins!" Allura's voice rang out in the speakers, "Come to the training deck! Your armor is not needed. Come now!" I sighed. I willed myself to stand up. I walked out the door and went to the training room, seeing no one in the halls.

I walked through the big doors and into the training room. For some reason, the lights were off.

"Hello?" I called into the room. I felt something wet fall onto my face. More drops fell, and before I knew it, I was soaked.

"Happy Birthday Lance!" I noticed the other paladins were now in front of me as the lights somewhat turned on.

I was speechless.

All this time I thought they were bonding without me.

I thought they were ignoring me.

But as it turns out, they were just trying to surprise me.

Tears fell down my cheeks, and my chin trembled like a small child's. I took deep shaky breaths as the warm rain mixed with my tears. The others surrounded me, hugging me tightly.

"Y-you guys were j-just surprising m-me. I-I thought you were *hiccup* bonding without me or I-ignoring me." I whimpered.

"We would never do that Lance. We love you," Shiro exclaimed, and the others nodded. Even Keith did. I started to laugh. I broke apart from everyone, twirling helplessly in the rain. I fell to my knees, arms wide open.

"Thank you..." I whispered into the rain as it washed over my shaking body.
