A/N: The picture above is of a street in the 7th ward in New Orleans.Just putting it here for future reference :)

Another whole week goes by, Emily and I haven't really talked about what happened. We're running out of money and things to do. We decide to take a nap but were woken up by a soft knock on the door. I run to the door and fling it open, I know for sure it wasn't Jake because we scared him shitless. When it opens, I see Scrim and Ruby standing in front of me with cheesy, but cute smiles.

"Hey, shorty," Scrim says, as I run into their for a long-awaited hug.

"I missed you guys so much! Come inside, we have something to talk to you about," I say, pulling them into the room.

They sit down on the bed between Em and me, we tell them every detail. We make sure to tell them everything they did to us to everything we did to them. I walk over to my bag and pull the knife out, when I open it their eyes widen from all of the dried blood on the blade. Scrim stands up and takes it out of my hand.

"Damn, I taught you well," He winks, examining the knife.

"Y'all ready to get outta here?" Ruby asks, it seems like he's uncomfortable seeing Scrim being sort of flirty with me.

Emily and I gather the few things we brought with us and head out to the car. Ruby and Emily sit in the front and Scrim sits with me in the back.

"So, where exactly are we going?" Emily asks.

"New Orleans. Back to our house." Ruby replies.

Neither of us protest, at this point we'd go anywhere to get away from this piece of shit place. New Orleans is about 8 hours away from Jacksonville, so Ruby and Emily decided to just take turns driving throughout the night. We left around 9 pm so if everything goes well, we should get home at about 5 am.

So far, the drive isn't that bad, we're all just talking, laughing, and listening to music. Emily and Ruby switch so he can sleep while she drives. When Em drives, she has to have her earbuds and blast music, for some reason it's the only way she likes to concentrate. Scrim starts talking to me about everything that has happened and apologizing for what I've gone through. Before I knew it, tears started streaming down my face. Scrim decides to move to the middle seat right next to me and comfort me.

"Yo, it's okay baby, you're safe now. None of that shit is gon' happen with us around, I promise."

His words have a way to instantly calm me down. I've never expected the person that has changed my life so much through music to be changing it through actions.

After a couple minutes after all of that, I start to fall asleep so I lay my head on Scrim's shoulder. I can hear him laugh a little before placing his hand on my thigh and rubbing his calloused thumb back and forth. Within seconds of his comfort, I fall asleep.

I wake up to Ruby saying, "Finally, we're home!"

"It's about damn time," Scrim says, while lazily climbing out of the back seat.

I get out of the car and take in the scenery, it's not necessarily bad but it's also not good.

"Hey, guys. Where are we?" I ask without trying to upset them.

"We're home," Ruby says, with a big smile.

"Ion think that's what she means," Scrim says, seeming kind of annoyed by my question. "We're in the 7th ward. I know it looks a lil rough but I'm sure you'll get used to it."

"Sorry I didn't mean to offend you guys, I've just never been here before."

We walk into their house, it's a lot nicer than all the others on this street. The outside is very well kept and isn't nearly as broken down as the neighbor's house. They guys show Em and me our rooms and then they show us theirs, then I put all of my stuff away and head to the living room.

"Yo, I'm hungry. Y'all wanna go get some food?" Ruby suggests.

"Hell yeah, I'm starving," Emily replies.

Scrim and I decide not to go with them, we both agree that we've been cooped up in a car with them for way too long. When they leave, we sit down on the couch and watch tv for a couple minutes before Scrim turns and looks at me.

"Can I help you?" I tease.

"Well, I'm sure you could but I just wanted to talk to you for a minute."

"About what?"

"I just wanted to let you know that I'm really glad you're here," He smiles. "You and Emily are some of the dopest girls we've ever met. Most of the time when girls come on the bus, they leave about an hour later and never get remembered."

"I'm glad that we were remembered." I laugh.

I sense some overdue smut coming in the near future
