Chapter 13 – “You Saved Me”

My eyes shot open and I looked over at my door. Ryuzaki was glaring at Light… I’ve never seen him so angry. Behind him I saw Misa, her jaw was practically on the ground, when she snapped out of it she glared at both Light and me. I tried to move out from under Light but I couldn’t, so I just kept my eyes on Ryuzaki.

What happened next I never expected. Ryuzaki stormed over to Light and threw him on the ground drawing his fist back and punching him in the face. I watched wide eyed not knowing what to do. I didn’t want to defend him but I didn’t want Ryuzaki to get killed my Misa.

I glanced over at her, she seemed to not care about Light. Maybe she was to hurt… maybe Light has now lost his leash on her. I wasn’t happy about what happened but I was happy that Kira is slowly losing his power… and now he can’t have me as a puppet anymore.

Light yelled out to Misa something that will be the end of him, something that makes it seem Ryuzaki has knocked all sense out of him. “Misa! Kill him!” His voice was horse as Ryuzaki released all his anger on him. “Please! You have the eyes, you can do it!” She glared and shook her head, stepping back slightly.

I eyed her as she pulled a notebook out of her purse, she glared inside of it as she started to write something. I pulled my knees up to my chest and watched wondering what could have been so important to jot down at this time.

Silence… not like no speaking… but more like shock filled the room. I looked over to see Ryuzaki holding a limp body in his hands. “He…he died right after clutching his heart.” He gasped. My eyes went wide as I saw the same crazy look that Light had on Misa. She stared at his body as if she won something…as if she killed him.

Without processing my actions I yanked the book out of her well polished fingers and opened it. Light Yagami…his name was written right bellow another who died yesterday. Misa looked like she was going crazy and I yelled for Ryuzaki to restrain her, without further ado she was cuffed and walked out by him.

Ryuzaki gave her to one of the men and told them to take care of her. He walked back over to me as I covered myself with a sheet, my eyes glued on the body in my room. “Are you doing alright?” He asked as he wrapped his arms around me.

“I’m sorry.” Was all I said, I couldn’t stop thinking about how much I hurt him. He tilted his head and smiled slightly.

“Don’t be sorry. I should be thanking you.” He got up off of my bed and sloched over starring into my eyes. “You saved my life.” He helped me up and then kissed my cheek. “You can stay with me in my room tonight. I don’t want you to have to stay in this place with what has happened.”

I smiled at him and nodded as I held the sheet around me. He helped prop me up as we walked into his room. It was very nice, about 2 times as big as all the other rooms. It was filled with books and sweets. He sat me down on his bed and he sat right next to me. My head rested on his shoulder and my eyes closed. I felt his hand brush my cheek and then lifted my head up to meet his.

I stared at him for a moment, he seemed like he was in deep thought. I frowned slightly hoping I didn’t do anything wrong. “What’s wr-“ I was cut off by his lips. He tasted like strawberries. I smiled as we both got lost in this moment. I missed him…and now he’s all mine.

He wrapped his arms around me and bit lightly on my bottom lip. He pulled away and then kissed my nose. Ryuzaki, L, Luke Lawliet… who knew we would end up like this? Two brought together by unfortunate events are now shaping a new life.
