Chapter V: Safe At Last

"Bright Light, I speak on behalf of all of CanyonRange. We are all truly sorry that we did not believe you. In the end, something's you say are right," Canyon Pelt told Bright Light earnestly. Bright Light acknowledged him with a shake of her head for she was happy that he had admitted that he was wrong.

"Momma, momma are we safe? I am so scared I don't wanna die I am just to young," Frost said as she shook violently. Bright Light gave her pup comforting licks to calm her and to say that they would be safe for now.

"Frost, go find Mountain and tell him to come out now we are safe, Frost finally safe and pretty soon we will find our new place to call home," Bright Light told her pup with the biggest look of happiness she could give. Later Bright Light went out hunting to try and get food for her, her pups, and Ice Tail so they could all have dinner together.

"Foxes young and old gather here for an announcement. We have been through a lot lately, but we have some good news to share because through any storm comes the calm and without a doubt these apprentices have shown me that they are ready to have their full Rankings. Sunny Paw, come here please. I know that Dark Breeze is watching right now from StarRange and since she was your mentor this should be an honor for you. You are ready to be a Rank and I hope StarRange accepts your full MountainRange position. From now on you will be called Sunny Breeze in honor of Dark Breeze and you will be an Ice Fox which considering all that you have been through recently is a really great and reasonable Ranking for you to have. Silent Paw, you have fought bravely in many battles since becoming an apprentice and I am happy to announce that you will now be called Silent Night and your Ranking will be a Storm Fox which I strongly believe is the rightful Ranking for you to have. Falling Paw, Fish Paw, and Sweet Paw you fought bravely too and in those battles you have proven yourselves worthy to me. I now pronounce you Falling Star an Ice Fox, Fish Scale a Sleet Fox, and Sweet Berry a Hail Fox, for you love to eat berries all of the time and each of you have a Rank that you each have proven that you well earned," Moss Fur announced to both Range's with his utmost joy to have actual good news to announce for once.

"I have something to announce for CanyonRange too. Hazel Paw, Limestone Paw, Canyon Paw, Runt Paw, and Fawn Paw you have shown your Range great courage. Your are now Hazel Fur, Limestone Rock, Fawn Tail, Canyon Fur, and Runt Heart. You have all been very brave and have shown what true courage is and that is what a true survivor is," Canyon Pelt announced to both Range's too also happy that he was sharing some good news for once.
