They say that the safest place a person can be is in the bounds of their mother's warm embrace. Addylin now understood how  much truth those words held.

All her built up emotions flooded into her as she tightly embraced her mother. Tears choked her throat and threatened to spill from her eyes. She tightened her arms one last time around the older woman before she let of of her and took a step back.

"Oh my darling child we've waited ages for your arrival! I've planned so much for your welcome but we unfortunately we somehow messed up your arrival date, so everything was a big rush." Grace gushed after releasing Addylin from the heartwarming embrace. Addylin just smiled at her mother in understanding and turned towards her father to give him a hug.

"Your mother speaks the truth, Addylin. You've grown so much in these past six years." Addylin's father, was a lively man who's always filled with passion and a will to achieve the best. Grace, being the bubbly and heartwarming lady she was, made a perfect match for the buoyant man, Ethan Roberts.

Crow's feet formed around their eyes as the smiled warmly at their child. They were proud of her. She had showed no reason for otherwise. Addylin had passed her Masters in Architecture with flying colours and then chose to fulfil her dream by taking up Architectural internship in Portugal. She never failed to disappoint her parents in her childhood studies either, she was the most ideal child a parent could wish to have. Kind, sweet, energetic and sometimes short-tempered, but every beginning has its ending. Addylin met her ending on July 15, 2014. It was the day when her fairytale life went spiralling down.

Addylin's heart ached whenever she thinks about that night. She never knew what exactly happened, she just remembered the smell of burning tyres and petrol. And of course she could never forget the last time she saw her love's face, he was in the seat right next to her and his fingertips almost touching hers but she never truly knew that day that it would be the last time she will ever see him again.

Every night when Addylin's heavy eyelids close, the memories come busing back at her as if hit by a plane. Oh the irony. Every time she recollected those distasteful thoughts, she hoped even her worst enemies wouldn't have to suffer the same. The Splinters of glass, the chunks of metal, the siren's call, the crazy light and worst of all, the searing pain.

Even through all that darkness she held on tight to the single strand of light, her family. At least what she remembered of her family.

Just then, Claire started tugging at Addylin's dress, trying to grab her attention. Addylin gently smiled at the adorable girl and asked her what she wanted.

"Addie! Addie! Guess what? Mom and dad newly got my bedroom furry-furrished! It's all pink and cream, they are my most favourite colours in the world. I want to show you my room. Will you come with me?" She asked her hopping around with excitement that she can show her room around to Addylin.

"Of Course cupcake, I would love to see it. Then maybe you can give me a tour of the house", If one can call this just a house, Addylin thought.

"Sweetie, I think you should let aunt Addie rest for a while, she just came from her tiring journey. Maybe you can show her your room later. You will have plenty of time later." Grace told her. Hearing this, Claire's face folded into sorrow and a pout appeared as she turned towards Addylin with puppy eyes. Seeing this Addylin laughed and agreed to go visit her room.

The two wished Grace and Ethan goodnight and went down the hallway that led them to Claire's room.

Sighing at their retreating figures, Grace turned towards Ethan and said, "When do we tell her? We have kept this long enough form her. She has the right to know about her past."

"I'm as willing as you to tell her all about it but you know very well that it is not our story to tell. Mica needs to come forth himself and talk her through this." He replied. Grace looked at him with forlorn eyes.

"When do you think they'll meet? Do you think he'll step another foot in this house after what happened?"

"Maybe not, but he needs to do it. At least for her sake. He will come back. He needs to come back."

The incessant ringing of the cellphone wakes Mica up from his slumber. He groans tiredly as he rubs his eyes and sits up on the bed. The soft sheets sliding off his toned torso, revealing the beautiful tattoo etched onto his heart. He then reaches out for the cursed phone and picks up the call.

"Mica speaking. What do you want at this ungodly hour!" He snaps at the phone.

"Woah! Calm down there you, hulk. I have some very important news with me and I thought you would like to know" the speaker replied.

"Fine! What is it Jay? You better not be wasting my time!" Mica warned him.

"Ok, I'll cut to the point. Addylin is back. And she is staying at her parents place. Now, I know after everything that has happened, you might not wanna see them but..."

Mica drowned out of the conversation the second he heard her name. He wasn't listening to Jay's blabbering. His heart started beating faster. His breaths became shallow and his pupils dilated. He felt like he was floating in a lucid dream.

She was back.
