Saturday. The most expected day of the week. All because on Saturdays, at breakfast, it's family time. What a wonderful time, by the way.
I woke up with Sophia shaking me. She knows that I hate when she do that.
"Good morning for you too, sis." She said and laughed.
"Go to hell, Sophia." I said, mad, but then I started laughing too.
"You can be sure that I'll take you with me. Ready for our amazing breakfast with family?"
"I just got up. Don't make hard questions on me." I answered, getting up.
In my way to the bathroom, I had to listen to Sophia saying how much she hates this situation. It used to be fun, but it's not like that anymore. What if this whole thing with my parents have something to do with the man of the email?
...
I hate this feeling of mistrust, but I can't help it. I just can't look at my mom without thinking about that email again. Here we are, me, Sophia and my mom, staring at each other.
"When are you and Dad telling us what is going on?" Sophia asked.
"In the right time, Darling. No more talking." My dad said and I looked at me the way he's been looking since things started to change.
"And when the hell is the right time?" I asked, almost screaming.
"Are you out of your mind? You watch your tone while talking to me. I'm your...father" I didn't catch the break in his phrase but Mom looked at him disapproving.
"I'm getting out of this table now, If you excuse me. Thank you." I said and left my chair, going to my room. I would start finding this out today.
I changed into jeans and a pair of shoes, then, grabbed my car keys. I was ready. And believe me or not, I was scared. The truth must come out, but it can hurt sometimes. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that.
I closed my bedroom door and went downstairs. Family were still reunited having breakfast. After shutting the door, all I could hear was my Dad's voice asking me where I was going. Bullshit. He never asked me this question.
Inside the car, I searched his name again on the Internet.
"Linton Auto Repair
Santa Monica Blvd , West Hollywood, CA"
It was ten miles from here. I had a long way to go, so I had a lot of time to think, either.
I had no quiet thoughts anymore. I just wanted to finish this story soon. Have my life back. My parents. Everything was too insane.
...
Running over my thoughts, I was there.
And I was also afraid.
This could change things. I could leave this, but while a side of my was telling me to leave this alone, the other part was telling me to go for it.
I don't know why, but I like challenges. And this was going to be a big one.
But something was missing. Why am I going inside an auto shop if I don't have any problem with my car?
I had a quick thought, then I opened the hood from my car and threw some coins next to the engine and even near things that really seemed important.
So here I go again. If I was doing this, it was better to be right now.
My steps lead me into the door of that place like I wasn't controlling myself. My impulses will drown me anytime.
I looked around that place and watched every single detail like that was going to help on something. All of those tools and car parts. There's not a single soul in this place.
So, I heard something. Like there was something falling down on the floor.
Loud.
And, it seems I am the only living thing in this place. Instinctively I tried to go away, walking backwards.
I shouldn't have done that. There was something on the floor, and I tripped on it. So, the only thing I see in front of me is a table, and I hold it, trying not to fall. But I failed again.
As a consequence, something fell of the table.
Then, all I could see was someone coming out from bellow a car. Was this Harris?
Obviously, my expectations were wrong.
The guy that appeared in front of my eyes was really pretty. His hair fell perfectly into his face and his eyes were inviting. I'm pretty sure that this isn't Harris. It can't be. I don't think he's this young.
But I also don't know him. So how am I gonna know?
"Can I help you with something?" He said with a low voice that woke me up from my own mind. I gave him another look.
"Well, obviously you can." I said.
"So...?"
"There's something wrong with my car. It's making some weird noises."
"Sorry, we're about to close. Do you wanna come back another day or you prefer leaving your car here so I can take a look on Monday?"
"I can come back another day. Thank you." I said, making my way until the exit door.
"So, can I at least know your beautiful name?" He asked and I had no other option than to laugh.
"I'm not that easy" I said, and suddenly he started laughing, like really laughing.
"Can I have an explanation?" I said in a higher pitch.
"Calm down, cher. I need to make a note to remember that you're going to bring your car." He said. I couldn't give him my name. If he knew something, it was too obvious.
"Oh. I bet you won't forget." I said, and then I made my way back to the exit
door. This time, he didn't interrupted me. Fine. When I was leaving, I saw an middle aged man coming in. He had dark hair and green eyes, just like me, but I let it go.
Now, I had to go home. I'm pretty sure I have a lot of explanations to give.
Damn it.
And I still have those coins inside my car hood.
