I walk out the front door and meet with my friends- Tatum and Gabbie -at the end of my driveway.
"good morning Loran" gabbie said with a smile on her face. we were all excited about going to high school but also nervous.
"morning" I said. We started walking to the school. I could feel the nervousness showing on my face.
"awwww little loran is scared about high school" Tatum said.
"shut up Tate" I said lightly punching her arm. Tate and gabbie always called me little because I've always been the smallest, weakest, and youngest, still in the same grade but younger.
"youll be okay loran. high school won't be all that bad" gabbie said lightly placing her hand on my shoulder.
"thats easy for you guys to say. You always fit in with everyone but I don't" I explained. I've always been the odd one out ever since grade 4. they would always be the ones who fit in with the people at the school and I've been the one in the corner lonely.
"it will change in high school I promise" Tate said side hugging me.
We arrive at the school and remembered that our school was different with graduations. Us grade 8's would go to the gym for first period after attendance and graduate. After that we would spend the rest of the day with our family and friends. When we arrived at the gym we took our seats. Out of me gabbie and Tate, gabbie was first. After it was Tate and the very last to go out of all the grade 8's was me. I said my speech and at the end we all went outside and through our caps in the air, not me though. I wanted to keep mine cause the top of mine looked like this.......
When I was walking out of the school I went to Starbucks witch was across the street. When I FINALLY got my drink I turned around and ran into a guy, dropping my drink, thankfully not getting it on anyone.
"im so sorry I will get you another one" he said looking at me as one of the workers came to clean up the mess.
"its fine, I don't have time to wait for another one, thank you for the offer but I have to go" I said walking toward the door.
"wait are you sure?" he asked catching up to me outside.
"yes, don't worry about it, I'll live" I said making him chuckle. He left and went back into the store as I started walking back toward my house down the street.
