“Tell me Allie!” His voice squealed as he leaned over his wife's shoulder, who held her legs crossed and a book in her warm hands.
“I said no.” She replied simply skimming over the words. William leaned back pouting in silence, crossing his arms, and huffing a deep breath.
“Please!” He begged. Alice sighed and looked up for a mere second before lowering her brows and scoffing silently to herself. She spoke harshly and with purpose, obviously annoyed by his constant whining.
“You'll find out it's gender at the baby shower. Now let me read.” She muttered with her eyes tracing back down to her novel. William leaned back against the pillows kicking his legs and attempting to stay quiet in order to allow his wife to relax a bit. Unfortunately, he had the mind of a child and silence was not an option.
“Come oooon! I'm the father! Is it a boy or a girl?” He begged
“Neither.” She quickly replied, glaring at him harshly with blazing eyes. William pouted once again leaning back against the matrice, sinking down to face the large stomach of his wife. He turned over, reaching a hand across and rubbing the baby bump lightly.
“Olivia Green? Is that you?” He muttered. Alice’s eyes sharpened as she heard the name said out loud. A smile crept on her lips as she glanced down only for a second. William continued, “If it is, I've got to say, you've got an amazing life ahead of you!”
Alice let out a chuckle looking down and meeting his bright blue eyes. “What are you doing?” She asked with a smirk. Williams face lit up.
“Asking the baby what gender it is. You know, since you won't tell me.” He explained. His wife sighed and tugged up her grey T-shirt, revealing her stretched out stomach. William smiled and looked back to the tiny life waiting to escape.
“Your mom will play dress up, and you'll be treated like a princess! A-and if your a tomboy that's okay too! We can dig up worms or eat frogs-”
“Ew!” Alice’s voice interrupted. Her husband’s lips crept into a small smirk.
“And we'll make mommy eat them too! Every last one, if you like.” He whispered softly. Alice snapped her hand back and smacked his forehead lightly, rolling her eyes. “Of course, if that's Mason Green and your a boy, I'll have to make you into a man, so you'll have to eat them all.” He muttered with his smile only growing.
"I'll do everything your grandpa did with me. Take you turtle catching, go hunting, play football. It's gunna be great!" He paused. As if being hit by a rock his tone changed from, excited two year old to average twenty-seven year old.
"No matter what gender, or who you are, I'll love you. You can be emo, gay, a nerd, disabled, super smart, and anything else, and I'll still love you. I promise."
By now Alice had set her book down and was now paying full attention on the conversation between her husband and her child. Tears filled in her eyes and she quickly looked the other direction in order to hide them. William failed to notice and continued with a huge smile plastered on his amazed lips.
“So, what is it!? Boy or girl!” He exclaimed excitedly pressing his hands against her stomach. Alice had let out a laugh and brushed her fingers through his hair.
“The baby and I have psychic powers and speak to each other through our minds. Right now it says that you'll find out tomorrow when everyone else does.” Alice chuckles. William locked eyes with her and sighed, leaning back in bed resting his chin on her shoulder.
“That's no fair.” He whispered kissing her shoulder.
“I think it is.” She muttered in a soft voice.
Silence covered the two and memories of their lives flashed over their eyes. The ceiling had became a sky and the light a boiling sun. Slowly they had became lost in space.
“Your so amazing.” His voice spoke sucking her back to earth. Alice blinked twice as a blush over flowed from her cheeks. She sighed and leaned towards the light, flicking it off and emerging into the darkness.
“Let's get some sleep.” She whispered leaning forward and kissing him softly on the lips. William smiled as he watched his wife turn the other direction and close her precious eyes. He sighed and flipped towards her stroking her hair and slowly drifting away into sleep.
Making sure he was unconscious, his wife spoke again to his sleeping figure.
“Olivia and Mason. A boy and a girl. Twins, Will. Twins.”
