Chapter 7: Nightmares within nightmares.

A/N: By now I am pulling dead ideas in my mind back to life since 2nd grade... IDK HOW but I just am so anyways sry bout the no A/N last chapter and, should I also say bye to you readers at the end of my chapters..? (Just reread Jasons pov in chap 4 and I messed up... fire was supposed to be purple ; _ ;)

Jason's P.O.V.

We were walking through the cave with a purple glow everywhere.

"So... what do you suppose this purple fire is..?" Piper asked me. I look at a torch with the fire on it and sighed. It felt hot like regular fire but then.. it also felt hotter and then more destructive and fragile. The crackling noise it made sounded more like thunder rather than crackling fire.

"I don't know... If I assumed I think it'd be lightning instead of fire but it doesn't give off that aura of energy." I said looking down.

"Oh..." Piper said grasping my hand next. I looked up and smiled at her she smiled back at me too. We both saw the end of the tunnel at the same time and ran for it. At the end was a cliff and a nest.

"A nest..?" Piper said looking awkwardly at the nest. I myself looked to the left and saw something engraved the side of the tunnel. It showed a picture of a girl crying and than a bird or something similiar instead with arms and then wings on it's back carrying a man into the distance.

"What's this...?" I said looking at it from different angles to see if it spelled a word.

"It's a pictograph..." Piper said looking at it in amazement.

"So.. what does this resemble?" I asked looking at Piper who was now as pale as a ghost.

"Jason we have to go back in the tunnel!" She said in a loud voice. Just then the tunnel collapsed and then we heard a loud screech from above. We both looked up and saw a gargoyle like thing flying above. It swooped down to grab Piper but I jumped in it's way. Instead of attacking it spoke. "Who do you choose to abandon you? Or her?" it said I looked at Piper and she said "Go I'll be fine." I started to cry and put her in front if the gargoyle. "I would never abandon you here..." I said. "But you already have..." Piper said in a quiet voice and then she got carried off.

I sat on the cliff alone cold and tired. I already have abandoned her...

Annabeth's P.O.V.

We continued walking down the tunnel after we came through the pool of water. The next thing terrified me, it was a room full of webs and a big ball of silk was in the middle.

"Wha-" Percy got cut off by the white ball of silk cracking. What came out of it made me paralyzed. It was a giant spider with beady red eyes. Its fangs showed and they were covered in a thick green slime.

"Venomous..." I said as I broke down. Percy on the other hand drew Riptide and charged. He slashed and hacked through the webs and then got to the spider. He was taken out like nothing.

"Child of Athena... I offer you a choice. Kill him and you live or I kill you and he dies." She said in a horrible raspy voice. "Fine, I'll choose." She charged at Percy and spun around him a web. "Later I will eat him, now, I will eat you!" She came at me I was terrified I couldn't move away like how I did with Arachne this spider was much too big and fast and even more clever than me... I waited for my death.
