It's surprisingly easy to hurt every single person you care about

Roman's POV

I was walking on air after Shannon and I shared that kiss. Now that she was not taken, I might have finally had a chance to be with her. It was time to tell Dean my intentions. After our heated argument, he seemed to have forgotten his suspicions.  I met Seth and Dean to spend some time together.

It was Seth's idea. He was always scared that Dean and I would have screwed the SHIELD up, by getting into some sort of huge fight. Crazy, right?

When Dean arrived, he had a smile from ear to ear.

''Shannon and I are back together. '' He announced, before we could even say hi.

''I'm glad you guys could patch things up. '' Seth said, patting on Dean's shoulder.

''Yeah, that's great. '' I agreed.

When did it even happen? I just wanted to throw up. Why was Shannon doing that to me?

Shannon's POV

I was alone in my hotel room, letting my guilt eat me alive, when I heard a knock on the door.

As I opened it, I saw Dolph. He waved at me uncomfortably.

''What are you doing here? ''

He smiled and I let him in.

''How are you? '' Dolph asked in a sweet voice.

''I'm... good. '' I answered, raising my eyebrows.

''I can see that. '' He nodded.

I giggled.

It was true that sooner or later I would have had to tell Roman about what had happened with Dean and I knew it was going to get messy, but I was unexpectedly serene.

I didn't feel like snapping at Dolph for showing up unannounced, or showing his face at all for that matter.

''So... do you have plans for tonight? ''

''Nope, why do you ask? '' I replied.

''I'd like to take you out for a drink... no hidden agenda. '' He raised his hands.

There was no more reason to hate Dolph. Everyone makes mistakes, right?

''Ok. '' I shrugged.

''God. I was hoping you'd shut the door in my face, or at least insult me a couple times. Now I feel bad again. '' He shook his head.

I laughed.

''It's all forgiven. Don't worry. ''

''Well... it's actually something I am going to do that makes me feel bad. ''

My smile faded.

''What is it? ''

''Shannon... is it true that... that you lost a baby? ''

I should have seen that coming. I had mistreated Nikki and she was getting her revenge.

''Yes. '' I whispered.

''Was it... was it my baby? ''

I nodded, not daring to look at him in the eyes.

''For how long were you planning to hide it from me?! '' He shouted.

I didn't know what to say. The idea of telling him hadn't even crossed my mind. I needed to keep that secret, although I knew it wasn't fair. If I were him, I didn't know how I would have reacted. All I knew was that I would have accepted whatever he'd decide to do, even if he'd decided to hit me. I deserved that.
