CHAPTER TWENTY TWO
Borderline Disorder. Sharon had heard nothing like that before. Heck, she didn't even know there was anything as such before a moment.
But one thing she was sure of and that it was nothing pleasant."What is this all about?"Sharon asked in a low voice.
"It's a disorder. It comes from a number of reasons but in case of Amaira, it's because of an unstable childhood. She had a lack of relationships and family for most of her life, it can even turn suicidal. As I said people who have it feel everything in extremes. Be it happiness or sadness, grief or pain. It was kind of in control while Pallavi was alive. She took good care of her, maybe because she always knew how to handle her but I, I knew nothing about Amaira so when I brought her here with me, it all got worse and for a long time I couldn't figure out what was wrong with her."
"Do you think she blames you?"
"She does not. And that hurts me so much because she should. Because I am the only reason why she never had a proper family. But Pallavi had always put me across in front of her like a loving and caring father and she believed in her mother."
Gautam heaved a heavy sigh as silence fell in the room again.
Sharon's head was racing with thoughts.
It was just a matter of second when she starts about thinking about a question and another popped up. She was in distress with the heaps of these new information, she couldn't help but felt disturbed.
Guatam's voice brought her back from her world of thoughts.
"Sharon, I know it's all too much. But please try not to judge me. I love you a lot, you have been my only source of happiness in my darkest times. Please Sharon I never meant to hurt your mother or you or anyone for that matter but everything just complicated. My life hasn't been the most beautiful one but you have been that silver lining for which I thank my life every day."
Sharon looked at her father. She tried to remember the time when she had seen him so broken and helpless. She thought about her wedding, her mother's death, the time when his father was extremely sad two years ago and the reason of which she never knew until now which turned out to be the death of his love of the life but she realized he hasn't never been this broken. His face looked older than his age in that moment.
Does grief do that to you? She wanted to tell him something, stop him from crying maybe or maybe she just wanted to not see him at that moment but all she did was put her hand on his shoulder and squeeze it. She was crying to see her favorite old man injured but she couldn't help him because something inside her was in pain too and she knew she wouldn't be able to hold on for long. With a last look at his father she got up and walked out of the study closing the door behind her and leaving a torn old man inside. She came out to the drawing room with heavy steps when she heard a laughter filling her ears. It was sweet, carefree and the happiness in that laugh stung her in her current situation. She turned to see the source of it and found Amaira sitting on the floor and playing with Saira as Swayam adored both of them with a smile which refused to reach his eyes.
"Jiju she is just so cute. I wish I could be with her all the time. You and Sharon Di are so lucky, I swear." Amaira chirped happily looking at him.
