Posted 9 months ago around the time the RED Tour ended on my tumblr. Since it's been over a  week since you got something from me -enjoy. :) Creative liberty on their goodbyes. Feedback is always a big, big, plus. :)

"Come over tonight, so we can properly say goodbye?" Taylor looked over at Ed, eyes shining through tears. Something about it felt awkward but she dismissed it, not wanting to look into it.

"Yeah, of course." He shrugged and smiled, wiping the rest of the clown make-up off with the towel in his hands. She smiled and turned and headed off to Club Red for the last time. He left and headed back to his house, where he’d celebrate the end of tour with some friends and wait for Taylor to text him to meet.

Taylor celebrated the night with fans, friends, and her family. Smiling, laughing, coughing and sniffling a lot but having a very good time. As the night wound down at about two am, she looked around the room and said some final goodbyes. She gave a wave and followed her mom and team out of the room. She was handed her phone, texted Ed, and got in the car and headed to the condo. As exhausted and as sick as she was, she didn’t care about the fact that she should be asleep. She could only think about one person and one person only. Conversations had in Watch Hill as well as in various hotels around the country after some shower over the summer were replaying in her mind. Her thoughts were at one place, and for one person only.

As her car entered the garage and her security escorted her into the building and then the elevator, she was met with a slumped figure in the chair by the elevator. Looking throughly exhausted and inebriated, hood over his red hair, he smiled shyly as he stood up greeting them. Taylor thanked her security guard and they entered the elevator. Once entering her apartment, she closed and locked the many locks behind her and dropped her bag down by the door. Meredith perked up from the place where she was napping and looked at her and then went back to sleep - not seemingly interested.

"Do you want anything?" She asked Ed, softly.

"No, I’m good." He followed her into the kitchen anyway, where she poured herself a glass of water and took some vitamin C tablets to help with the cold. She sat down next to him and put her hand over his. She gave him a soft smile and looked away.

"Taylor?" He dragged her name out, saying it low and making it linger in the air, he laced his fingers with hers giving them a squeeze. "Come on, it’s not like this is goodbye."

"I know that, but it kinda is. Ed, this has been the best tour - the best six months of my life and thats because you were with me for all of it. My best friend, always with me. It was amazing, and I’m so happy you said yes to this." She smiled at him, and then leaned into him, sliding to the edge of her stool to reach. His arm wrapped around her, he could tell by the way her voice cracked that it wasn’t just the vocal strain of playing three shows with a cold but that she was close to tears. He waited.

"No, thank you Taylor. This truly has been such an amazing tour." He kissed her hair softly and quickly, almost unnoticeable to her sense. She turned to him with a small smile, eyes gleaming.

"Remember what we talked about?" She looked down at her hands, now in her lap as they sat facing each other on the stools.

"Yes. How could I forget?" He smiled. She laughed and looked up at him. Her smile grew wider on his face as she realized the tears in his eyes were there for the same reason as hers.

"I don’t know how I’ve waited this long. It’s seemed impossible." He nodded in agreement, staying silent as he took her hands in his, he looked at her in a completely different way than he ever had before. He realized that the decisions they made months ago were completely changing his life tonight, and as scared as he knew they both were - it was the only thing to do. Taylor took a deep breathe and smiled wider - if it was possible. "I was afraid you’d change your mind."

"I don’t think I could do that, Tay." He smiled and began to close the gap between them. It wouldn’t be the first time that their lips would touch. That had happened, and it had led to several long talks, decision making, deciding that while they were working together it had to be as professional as possible, and they’d try to ignored their feelings. This kiss that was about to happen would change it all, and it had been anticipated for months now. His hands left her grip and grasped either side of her face. She waited, moving her hands to his chest, either to pull him closer to to push him away in fear - she wasn’t one hundred percent sure she was okay with it yet. She was scared of crossing this bridge. They both were.

He let out a small chuckle before saying, “You good to go?”

Four words he said to her every night on stage. She laughed and punched his chest lightly. “Yes,” she response with a laugh that was stifled by soft lips on hers, moving slowly against her own. He pulled back with a smile that she response with moving her hands to his hair and pulling him closer, standing up and closing the gap so their bodies could press together, to close the awkward gap the two stools created. She could feel his smile through their kiss, and it made her smile and laugh too. She pulled away when her laugh turned into a cough, and the she wrapped her arms around him holding him close for a moment.

"You’re gonna be sick, Ed." Just barely louder than a whisper.

"That’s okay, this is worth it." He smiled into her neck, kissing the skin there and then kissed up to her lips, his hands lost in her hair. His lips nor hands did not leave her body for the rest of the night, as did hers.
